I started the topic on the torch for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games Milano/Cortina. Do you have any ideas for a design? I created my design and also worked on the possible torch relay logo.

Here my torch designs:

My Olympic torch design:

My Paralympic torch design:

Both of my torch designs each represents the dolomite mountains shape along with some of Milano's architecture which are all inspired by it and it also colored in the flag of Italy.

Spanning 63 days and covering 12,000 kilometres, the relay will include 60 stops across the host nation, engaging Italians and sparking excitement in the build-up to the Opening Ceremony on 6 February 2026.

The journey will commence on 26 November 2025 in Olympia, Greece, with the traditional lighting of the Olympic flame. The flame will then make its way to Italy, arriving in Rome on 4 December 2025 before setting out across the host nation, where it will be carried by around 10,000 torchbearers.

Highlights of this "Greatest Journey", the official Olympic Torch Relay campaign revealed by the Organising Committee, include the flame bringing festive cheer to Naples on Christmas Day, and welcoming in the New Year in Bari.

On 26 January 2026, the flame will arrive in Cortina d’Ampezzo, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Opening Ceremony of the 1956 Olympic Winter Games in the town.

The relay will culminate in Milan, where the flame will enter the iconic San Siro Stadium during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 Opening Ceremony on 6 February 2026.

As well as building anticipation for the Games, the Olympic Torch Relay is designed to pay tribute to Italy’s extraordinary historical and cultural heritage. The flame will visit many of the nation’s 60 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, underscoring the rich traditions and landmarks that define Italy, while inspiring unity and pride across the country.

The relay for the Paralympic torch has also been unveiled

In addition to revealing the route for the Olympic Torch Relay, the Milano Cortina 2026 Organising Committee also unveiled the journey that the Paralympic flame will take ahead of the Paralympic Winter Games.

It will begin at the spiritual birthplace of the Paralympic Movement, Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Great Britain, on 23 February 2026. The 12-day Paralympic Torch Relay will cover 2,000 kilometres and feature 500 torchbearers before reaching the Opening Ceremony at the Arena di Verona on 6 March.

I don't mind it tbh..... I like the colours

Shape wise, yeah it does look a bit like a vape or the top reminds me of those metal shot measures..

Its alright. The approach to make the flame have the spotligt is an interesting one, although i would have wished they used something more distinctive. Its tall height and thinness also somewhat reminds me of the Atlanta's torches

It seems they have kept the oblong concept of Paris and merge it with previous torch designs (London to say one). The colors bronze and petrol play as red and green of the tricolor I guess. Overall fine but I find Torino's more original.

It's as remarkably long as the Paris one was remarkably short! It's very...efficient. Not really much to say about it tbh. Must say though that the logo is growing on me the more I see it on stuff.

Another winner for me. Probably my favorite winter torch since 2002. I think I'm in the minority here, but Italy is really hitting it out of the park on all of their design choices for me this time.

Love the Torch Relay Uniform.

The staff and volunteer one seems to very functional with its multiple layers and should be easy to spot on the ground with its bright green colours.

Will be held indoors now -- as it was 57 years ago --for Grenoble 1968, except that one was held at the older History Museum (the only one then--and that's outside the fenced in grounds of Olympia).  The Lighting for Wednesday will take place at the newer Archaeological Museum (which is w/in the Olympia grounds.  The Archaeological Museum is about 20 years old.  I imagine, if it's not POURING cats & dogs on Wednesday, the first runner will still run up to gran-gran-granpere's stelle & pay homage to BPdeC's heart.  🤩

Speaking of over-kill, for a tiny town of only about 1.000 residents year-round, Olympia has THREE museums devoted to the OGs--and not counting the International Olympic Academy on the nearby Kronos Hill.  The 3rd one (which I did not get to see) is the Museum for the Modern Olympic Games and that one is in town--closed since 2005 but just re-opened now.  I imagine they had to coordinate and NOT duplicate or maybe duplicate the stuff at the TOM in Lausanne.  I wonder if Olympic will soon have a separate 4th museum for the Winter Games only???)

In 2010, the best giftshop was the stand-alone one a few yards away from the entrance if I recall correctly.  I imagine that's the one the busloads of visitors from the cruise ships swarm when they are taken there.  The port of Katakolon is about 45 mins away by bus.
