It's almost over! This Sunday will be the end of not only the Paralympics but of Tokyo 2020 as a whole. Tokyo 2020 will be remembered as the games that had obstacles but managed to sacrifice itself into being held during a difficult time.

Arigato Tokyo and Japan, for the past months hosting the most bravest games ever in Olympic and Paralympic history. I hope in the next 4 or 5 years, MIKIKO's ceremony plans will be reality in the 5th anniversary of the games. To Paris and France hosting Paris 2024: Bonne chance, sois courageux et meilleurs vœux. Il est maintenant temps pour vous d'organiser les Jeux olympiques et paralympiques d'été en 2024, allez-y et gagnez!

Wow this post made me a bit nostalgic, I remember 8 years ago in Buenos Aires how Tokyo 2020 was still a fantasy, 1 year after london 2012 and 3 years before rio 2016. Suddenly those 3 years passed by and tokyo was presenting itself to the world with Shinzo Abe dressed as Mario. Another 3 years passed by, we learned more about mascots, the logo, some stadiums started being ready, and then a 5 months countdown became a 1 year countdown. Some issues went on in the organizing commitee, but with all that uncetainity, a bit more than a month ago, the opening ceremony started and that flame which waited 8 years to be lit was finally at the top of mount fuji. Now we are here days before Tokyo games comes to the end, and the paralympic flame comes to an end. So yeah I believe tokyo olympics started writing its story from the moment it was revealed as the host city. Arigato Japan, lets hope the olympic movement gave japanese youth inspiration and overall give hope to a country that always rise up from disasters, and hopefully will rise again soon and open to the world the way the always have wanted

Last day of Tokyo 2020:(.15 minutes to go. Cloudy and cool Tokyo now.

You should be so proud.   What a magnificent Tokyo 2020 both the Olympics and Parlympics it has been.  Lifetime memories for the toughness and resilience of Tokyo 2020 and the Japanese people.

Felt like this is the most crowded segment among the 4 ceremonies, can anyone correct me on that?

Tricky- it's a very restricted performance space

Yes true - kinda makes it more intimate and inclusive

NZ TV is yet again showing ads but not showing what it is missing - so i won't be sticking with this. Shame on them.

Sounds like you missed the flag-bearers. Flag now raised and national anthem sung.
