Can I be a moderator? I'm Australian and thus v. trustworthy! So trustworthy I dont even have to write the word very when "v." will suffice!

Moderator: How do you decide who will be a moderator???

OK, I haven't been here for ages, but is it possible at all to keep the threads flat? I hate navigating through these posts. It's much easier to see them all at once.

Don't know if anyone else got this in their PM box but it appears there is a porn spammer on the board:

!NICK!, U are welcomed to Online Portal Free Porn Video! Here is your automatic Invite link to Porn Portal!

Sincerely, administration forum!

I got the exact same PM, and the member that sent out those PMs joined today.

Dear moderator,

I think we should move some threads from Rio 2016 bid section to Rio 2016 games section, since many of discussions are valid for the Olympic Games.

How can make it possible?

sincerly

Not really liking the embedded forums structures (Vancouver, or the 2016 bids) this time around. You've got to go through every separate thead in those forums to mark them as read, rather than just using the pull down option to mark all topics in a particular forum as read. Its also adding extra clicks, and then download a new page each time, to get down to some threads.

The same is valid for the 2018 bids section...

And furthermore you can just see the last newest post of one thread - you have to enter the section to see if e.g. something is new in the Munich 2018 thread when the newest post was in the Annecy or in the Pyeongchang thread

(I hope you understand what I mean)

Interesting, I'd hardly noticed the new layout. The first thing I do when I come here is hit the 'View New Posts' link at the top.

Actually, I don't even do that now, I just type www.gam into my browser's address bar and the top suggestion is the URL for the 'View New Posts' page - http://www.gamesbids.com/forums/index.php?...amp;CODE=getnew

So I go for days without seeing the main forum page even if I make dozens of posts in that time.

But that's just me...

I've never tried that - I might give it a go.

Yeah, that's the other problem I'm noticing in the new embedded forums - and they're all having a fair bit of activity at the moment.

... furthermore it is irritating, that there is still a "Rio thread" in the 2016 bid section...

Maybe all the 2016 threads, bar Rio, should be going into the past bids discussion now - it's not like the Tokyo and Madrid ones are getting many posts now, it's still mainly Chicago (and all the Rio's should probably now go into its dedicated games thread.

That's exactly what I do - I assumed all regular posters did the same. I was clearly mistaken!

CAF give view new posts a try when you log on tomorrow morning. See if you like it - it took a bit of getting used to for me, but now I wouldn't have it any other way - saves a lot of time!!
