SportLightning Posted March 3, 2022 Report Posted March 3, 2022 The 2027 Pan American Games in Barranquilla, Colombia is five years away, that will be after the 2023 edition next year in Santiago, Chile. It will be the second time that Colombia has hosted the Pan American Games after 1971 in Cali, another Colombian city. This topic for the 2027 edition in Barranquilla is just the beginning. Quote
SportLightning Posted March 8, 2022 Author Report Posted March 8, 2022 I await for the Barranquilla 2027 emblem to be launched. Quote
stryker Posted March 28, 2022 Report Posted March 28, 2022 Maybe it's time to either let the Pan Ams become part of history permanently or just rename them the Latin American Games. Quote
SportLightning Posted April 6, 2022 Author Report Posted April 6, 2022 Barranquilla hasn't announced their venues for the 2027 Pan American Games just yet. Quote
Roger87 Posted November 7, 2023 Report Posted November 7, 2023 That was a good holdover. Now with Barranquilla as host city, they just can't miss having two of the most famous Colombian women in the opening ceremony as being natives of the city Quote
Olympian1010 Posted November 7, 2023 Report Posted November 7, 2023 Shakira performed at the Barranquilla 2018 (CAC Games) opening ceremony, so not how likely it is that we’ll her again. Quote
Roger87 Posted November 7, 2023 Report Posted November 7, 2023 Shakira performed in three consecutive World Cups. And currently people in Brisbane 2032 are asking for Kylie Minogue Performing at the smaller CAC Games won't be an issue for someone as relevant and linked to Barranquilla like Shakira to perform at the Pan Am Games. We'll see about that. Now with the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games are over, it's time to start thinking about Barranquilla 2027 as we prepare for this edition in four years' time. Quote
Guilga Posted January 3, 2024 Report Posted January 3, 2024 HEY PEOPLE! COLOMBIA MADE A FUMBLE! Before anyone say anything about interest on the continental games however, this was different: they lost hosting rights by fumbling their contracts. Now, we will see in the coming days how much interested are the powers of the Americas to their games. Not a CWG situation yet, but time will tell. 1 Quote
Sir Rols Posted January 3, 2024 Report Posted January 3, 2024 A link in English Colombia's Barranquilla removed as host of 2027 Pan American Games 1 Quote
yoshi Posted January 3, 2024 Report Posted January 3, 2024 (edited) What did they do?! (And how many handbacks/strippings of multi sports Games will there be before we need to start asking whether the contracts are the problem...) Edited January 3, 2024 by yoshi Quote

They failed to pay up their contractual dues with Panam Sports, i think due to governamental shenaningans, specifically the Sports Ministry failing to pay a parcel due to December 31. Yeah, it was a contract breach actually. Quote
SportLightning Posted January 4, 2024 Author Report Posted January 4, 2024 Looks like Asuncion the capital of Paraguay could possibly host in 2027 even though will host the Junior Pan Am Games 2025, but the 2027 event is still possible for Asuncion which i heard i news sources in Spanish and they said it's possible. Colombia is still making an attempt to take back the Games. The deadline for candidates is January 30, so we'll see if Mexico does indeed join the race, and if so, will it be Guadalajara or Monterrey. Quote

I hope Asuncion wins the bid as it is Pan Am Sports Organization's most likely pick which could help Paraguay boost as a new sports destination. Quote
