Guardian Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Can't wait to hear what they have to offer. I wouldn't be surprised, if that Christ statue that made the city famous would be in one of the video presentations here.

Guest Bauler Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Rio will try to bring the social spirit of the games! something like: we need this, give it to us! And focuses on the south america issue, that never hosted a game before!

Sir Rols Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 I've gotta head out to dinner soon - I'll miss this one (and probably Madrid's). Guess I'll catch up on the action in the threads later. Se you all well in time for the decision.

Don't forget that the final report from that former Moroccan athlete will be presented, before the voting begins.

I totally agree with your assessment as well.
NYCD 2012 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 I am gonna to take a miss for Rio. It almost dinner time here in S'pore (5.32pm) and I've got to hit the books as well, I might be back for the Madrid one or voting but I will def come back for the result.
Xu Wen-Ting Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 wow xu wen ting, you're a regular comedian because still 20mins left for supper.....lol
Kenadian Posted October 2, 2009 Author Report Posted October 2, 2009 If I were in charge of the Rio presentation, I'd focus a lot on the transformative power hosting the Olympics would have on the city and the country...like the impact on Tokyo and Japan in the 1960s and Barcelona in the 1990s and Beijing and China in this decade. The "we deserve it" argument isn't going to win them over. But the "OMG, IOC...you are going to be part of Brazil's future" is.
DannyelBrazil Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 The South America never hosted will not be the "theme" of presentation, but of course, will be present at some time...

The "we deserve it" argument isn't going to win them over. But the "OMG, IOC...you are going to be part of Brazil's future" is. I agree with this statement. Besides, South America hasn't hosted the Olympic Games yet. But, I kind of fear what questions those IOC members are going to ask the bid team, after the presentation is over.
DannyelBrazil Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Guardian, I can't see also, for example, a presentation of New York with the statue of liberty... Indeed, Sugar Loaf mountain should be present too...
NYCD 2012 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 The South America never hosted will not be the "theme" of presentation, but of course, will be present at some time... I'll be very keen to hear how more empasis will be put on that.
Guest Bauler Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Yes, the biggest seeling point is the legacy!
micheal_warren Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Time for Rio!!! Good work on the puppy score on Prince Alberts Questions
DannyelBrazil Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 I'll be very keen to hear how more empasis will be put on that. That map without south american host is expected to be shown, on my opinion, since it made a lot of success in previous presentations...
DannyelBrazil Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 "OMG, IOC...you are going to be part of Brazil's future" - it's my bet for Brazilian presentation
Guest Bauler Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Not worry about the questions, our politics are very good on rumble on.... ;)
Athensfan Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 If Rio hits a home run, they will win. It's that simple. The door is open. It's as if all the earlier figure skaters have fallen ....
