Indeed. It will be a beautiful arena Also, this will sound like cheerleader (but whatever), seriously Macron had two outstanding early weeks as President of France. Not only Internet in Western World is completely in love of him (Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr are considering him as a sort of liberal politics "sex symbol") but also the international press is becoming impressed of his character, aplomb, intelligence and leadership (That last one according by some British newspapers). A full contrast between the excesive "bling bling" of Sarkozy and the (unfairly imho) lame duck profile perception of Hollande. If perception is key, Macron is winning hands down. With the potential success of the legislative elections, Macron only needs a rock "n" roll presentation at Lausanne this July to seal the deal and Lima may be just a prerrequisite. As FYI mentioned before, 2024 Paris is on the drivers seat.
Quaker2001
From the Wall Street Journal (article is pay-per-view, so I included another article that referenced it).. Olympic Committee Favors Paris in 2024 Report: IOC leaning toward awarding 2024 Olympics to Paris, 2028 to Los Angeles According to the report, the IOC is potentially working it out with LA to offer incentives for them to take 2028.
yoshi
So, does that mean the June 9 meeting could see confirmation - & if so, would Lima be cancelled?

Oh boy, I bet AbraSquawkson's pecking away furiously at that keyboard at this very moment to post it his stern "disaproval" about this move on his "blog" tomorrow morning! Lima will probably stay but mostly for presentations and voting of the youth Olympics. Anyway, coming from the Wall Street Journal must be really possible or at least in cards. At the end, this must be the most pragmatical choice.

You can bet on it. Maybe Abrahamtroll needs to reconsider the Chirac comparasions after the "performance" Trump did during his first international tour . Anyway, i'm sort of surprised of you know which ones hadn't made comments yet. But I guess this will be a repeting circle of mantras. Roger87
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-olympics-discovery-idUSKBN18Z1T3 Quote Games rights holder Discovery backs Paris 2024 bid over LA Olympic Games rights holder Discovery Communications, a U.S. firm, threw its weight behind Paris' bid for the 2024 summer Games on Thursday, picking the French capital over Los Angeles. The two cities are the only ones left in the bidding race after four others withdrew over financial concerns. "We are excited to show our support for the Paris bid and their quest to bring the 2024 Olympic Games back to Europe," Discovery Communications President and CEO David Zaslav said in a statement. The U.S. firm has secured the rights across Europe for the Olympic Games from 2018-2024. Paris looks to have the edge over Los Angeles to land the 2024 edition, with LA 2024 bid chairman Casey Wasserman hinting on Wednesday that the U.S. city would accept a 2028 Games. The International Olympics Committee is expected to decide on Friday whether to announce the hosts of both the 2024 and the 2028 Games at its September session.
