paul
Always reminds me of Philip Johnson's Celebration City Hall in Florida. Of course I love it, thought it was going to be white?
DannyelBrazil
In Brasilia almost everything have some concrete-like colours, I think they want the stadium to fit the existent archtecture PS: If I could, I would live in Celebration... paul
the stadium was brilliantly executed, could never have imagined a better compliment to the existing capitol. a powerful and beautiful new icon.
DannyelBrazil
Totally agreed, the stadium seems to be built in the era the rest of the city was built, for the good and for the bad.

MrCatra
Arena Corinthians' Glass Facade of the West entrance half done: The façade is 'flat' on the extremities and then gradually starts to get curved until it reaches the maximum curvature in the middle of the Façade. Also the transparency reaches its' maximum curvature in the middle. So, every piece of glass is unique, all imported from Italy. That one missing on the left wasn't correctly built, so they are sending another one. The facade could cover a 40 floors building : )

thatsnotmypuppy
This stadium reminds me of the Estadio Municipal in Braga, Portugal.... Just how it is two big stands on each end. Stunning.
MrCatra
I see. Noticed some similarities. This is how it'll look like in the World Cup:
thatsnotmypuppy
Huh. I kind of preferred how brutalist and minimal it seems now, Meh.
MrCatra
Me too. After the world Cup, which is an insignificant event in the history of that stadium, the seats behind the goals will be removed.
DannyelBrazil
Corinthians owe this stadium to the World Cup. Without tax incentives created by Sao Paulo city hall specially for East Zone of SP for the World Cup, this very project would not be possible. Maybe another project, in other time. But this very project was made with tax incentives for World Cup. I have nothing against it, I think all clubs in Brazil must have nice stadiums. This stadium can be a turning point for that region of Sao Paulo who need more developments. But to claim the World Cup is something insignificant to Corinthians arena is too Corinthians-fan biased comment.
MrCatra
It's. Corinthianos care only about Corinthians. WC is irrelevant to us. It's your opportunity to watch the games there, Mr. Danny. After that only Corinthians will matter. ps: the law you're talking about was created in 2004 under Ms. Suplicy tenure as mayor. Had nothing to do with the WC.

Had nothing to do with the WC. Nah, I will spend my money and time to visit Curitiba's stadium in the world cup. I love the project and the city. About the law, it was changes in 2007 to allow Corinthians Stadium to be included. I have no objections to it, even not being a Corinthians fan (which means I hate Corinthians). MrCatra
You don't know much about the subject, Mr. Danny. But since we are in a good mood now, I wont disturb that. Anyways, that was a tongue-in-cheek comment, my friendo.
DannyelBrazil
Yeah, I know nothing about it...Look at this picture of July 2011 of Mayor of Sao Paulo, Mr. Kassab signing some law with former Corinthians president Andrés Sanchez and a bunch of people with Corinthians jerseys... As I said I have no objections to the change in the law to include Arena Corinthians in the tax incentive law for East Zone of Sao Paulo... We don't need to discuss this, I have really no interest in the history of Corinthians' Stadium. Since it work fine for the World Cup and help to improve Itaquera neighbourhood, I'm pretty happy.
