Rob2012 Posted February 15 Report Posted February 15 Been out all day, missed the snowboard cross gold, just managed to catch the skeleton gold. What a day! Quote
yoshi Posted February 15 Author Report Posted February 15 (edited) Never needed snow anyway - time to put a bid in Who ever thought we'd have a legit Super Saturday Sunday in Winter? (Also Canada need another two at least now ) Edited February 15 by yoshi 1 Quote

I've noticed this year the bobsleds have gone the way of F1 with loads of bare carbon fibre and barely any paint. Don't like this trend in either sport. 2. The snowboard cross commentators kept saying "it's like she's opened the DRS". A (now outdated) reference that made me laugh, but I wonder how many people watching would've understood it? Quote
yoshi Posted February 15 Author Report Posted February 15 Well I recognise the term but I don't know what exactly it is - but then I'm not really a fan of F1. Snowboard cross is far more fun Quote
Rob2012 Posted February 15 Report Posted February 15 From 2010(ish) up to last season DRS (drag reduction system) was an overtaking aid for chasing cars, where a flap in the car's rear wing opened reducing drag and increasing speed compared to the car in front. Quote
JMarkSnow2012 Posted February 16 Report Posted February 16 It's lucky I decided not to log on to Gamesbids over the weekend while I was working on my subtitles. This thread would have been flooded with "Did you see that?!" comments 😊 Quote
Rob2012 Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 Sweeping the round robin didn't work, maybe making bloody hard work of it will lead to the desired outcome instead? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/cn9e1elzjdzo Quote
yoshi Posted February 19 Author Report Posted February 19 It's better to do your best play in the knockouts than the other way round. Jen & Bruce know that better than anyone now Quote
yoshi Posted February 19 Author Report Posted February 19 Guaranteed medal! Will still be the most nerve-racking two hours of the games though. Hope the BBC have the balls to put it on One. Quote
Faster Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 Goddamn Switzerland. You just had to lose to Italy to eliminate the annoying Scots. 1 Quote

Faster Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 Yea the second run of the 4 man was very intense. Most eventful of any of the sliding sessions. Britain was looking decent there for awhile to prevent another German sweep. Quote
yoshi Posted February 21 Author Report Posted February 21 No Canada, you're supposed to lose the curling and win the hockey Quote

JMarkSnow2012 Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Another not-4th position now apparently inevitable in the bobsled 😪 Quote
Rob2012 Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 It is nice we've got one of every colour now Quote

JMarkSnow2012 Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Traditionally, Team GB has won around half-a-dozen medals in the Winter Paralympics. This year saw a significant break with that tradition 🤔 Quote
