I never imagined Zeus having such a potty mouth! What is the Almighty One's proposal for deciding host cities?

Whichever one dedicates him a new temple and sacrifices the most virgins*

* that leaves Australia out

It's an important job but seriously, it's a sports administrator, not the Pope. It's actually serious because I think this is part of the New Norm too, the IOC is now very much just the President. Under Rogge, yes he was President, whoever is will always be important, but the rest of the IOC had function, it was all relevant & there was opposing/alternative views put in public by members - like a proper parliament almost. Now it's a bit like Russia - there's the President, the closest advisors, everyone else in the system might as well not be there. Maybe that's Bach's next step...

Not just a bit like Russia, but pretty much now like FIFA. Where real power, with the (great) new-norm, is only among a select few & the rest of the IOC membership (who use to have a say) merely just rubber-stamp these days whatever the Exco so desires.

Well, that apparently didn’t go down well…

International federation chiefs "apoplectic" at Coe's Olympic prize money plan
