There is no "could be" here.  He IS wrong.  I was giving him the benefit of the doubt to check his information and spot his error.  Took me a bit to figure out what he did there.  I'll give you a hint.. might want to check the year on that calendar he's looking at.

Ooh yes- 20 January. That'll teach me to post on Gamesbids when I'm drunk.

That's never a good thing.

Yes, this season's Hockey Day in Canada (2018) is January 20th.  LAST season's Hockey Day in Canada (2017) was Saturday, February 18th.  That's what Durban was looking at and mistakenly thought that was this upcoming February.  The weird thing about that is that when he was talking about it, you'd think he'd have looked at that and thought that something didn't seem right and check his info again.  An "expert" probably would have realized that.

No expert here, yes. I admit this. Far from it. Yes, I goofed on the Canadian National Hockey Day date--and it was scheduled as such in January so as not to conflict with the Canadian's attention towards the Winter Olympics during February. Read the press release wrong. My postings  don't yet have the editing capabilities because I'm not a Premium member yet. It is January 20 therefor the Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada that Saturday.

SportsNet also has the Toronto Maple Leafs regional rights too including on SportsNet Fan 590 radio that it also shares with TSN 1050 Toronto. TSN/RDS holds the regional rights towards the Maple Leafs, Senators, Jets, and the Canadiens with RDS holding the exclusive French rights towards the Habs (Canadiens for the unitiated) and Sens. But their resources won't be stretched thin like Rogers will be because of the latter's very massive national Canadian NHL TV contract with TVA Sports on the French side that Bell Media isn't involved. Contract lasts until 2026. Furthermore there's the TSN multichannel advantage, which it can use to show Winter Olympic events like it did acting as the bulk than SportsNet with Rio 2016 but not as much sports. Maple Leaf games will be TSN4, Sens are on TSN5, the Jets will be at TSN3, and the Canadiens will appear on TSN2. Issue is, where exactly the TSN channels will the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics from the TSN front will be shown? Surely TSN proper will but maybe with TSN2/3 for supplemental events with likely some simulcasting from the others until Sportscentre and NHL regional action. Or the sports. With Rogers SportsNet, I seriously think there will be a fusion with the CBC hockey personnel with the CBC acting as the bulk. Doubt highly we'll see some TSN hockey sportscasters involved. One can only imagine if the Vancouver Grizzlies were still existing and also showed all their games on Rogers SportsNet Pacific and West how that would affect things. As for as that Hockey Day in Canada coming on Saturday February 18, that early game Winnipeg at Montreal in the afternoon has to go to City TV with CBC/Radio-Canada and Rogers SportsNet too focused on live Pyeongchang 2018 coverage segments up to the early afternoon. In many cases. that hockey will be immediately afterwards Hockey Night in Canada and the regional/nationally televised games.

Plus, there's also the additional fact that Rogers SportsNet also has half of the Toronto Raptors 82-game TV schedule it's committed to as well with four games during the Pyeongchang span, all on SportsNet One. TSN in comparison will only have two Raptors games at that month because their greater broadcasting priority of course will be with Pyeongchang 2018 and of the regional NHL team rights (ditto on the radio with TSN 1050 Toronto) with those multiple channels. Very safe to say that Rogers SportsNet will showcase men's and women's Olympic hockey as its anchor because of the NHL contract and of the hockey resources it currently hold with plenty of pre- and post-game analysis with the CBC having all the games, not just the Team Canada and the medal round ones of course. I am sure there will be ceremony simulcasting from Rogers SportsNet and TSN/RDS and possible replays. We'll touch upon the RDS French side, where things aren't as vast even with three channels--and its hockey personnel could get stretched out even more so. The TVA Sports hockey sportscasting guys MIGHT (emphasis on that word) get involved in South Korea because of the NHL rights, but I don't think so because there's no Olympics broadcasting involved with them.

With the Olympics, be it Summer or Winter, it unquestionably will reach Millenials to bring forth more ad revenue for 17 days than MTV reaps in a year. Millenials are where it's at to get them into Olympic fever, and they've succeeded during Rio 2016. Snapchat and Buzzfeed will help them even further to reach the $10 billion ad revenue goal for NBCU as it highly picks up steam when we get closer for February:

http://www.adweek.com/tv-video/ad-sales-for-nbcs-coverage-of-the-winter-olympics-are-starting-to-pick-up/

TSN will help out on those Saturdays when there is no NHL regional action(Rogers SportsNet has exclusivity to all NHL games on Saturdays). But the bigger NHL games almost will have to go to City TV with CBC/Radio-Canada and Rogers SportsNet too focused on live Pyeongchang 2018 coverage(although in cases like Saturday, Feb. 17, one of the SportsNet channels might be needed to carry the Montreal @ Las Vegas game, and the Boston @ Vancouver  game that night.) That's where TSN/2/3 might come in for Olympic action like skiing or figure skating.

Just remembered that NBC TODAY kicks off the 100-day countdown towards Pyeongchang 2018 on NBC Wednesday, November 1, when we will start expecting lots of new Olympic broadcasting details worldwide, with the USOC's interactive Team USA WinterFest presented by Hershey at Times Center as the first stop of 13 with music and US Winter Olympic athletes present including a stop in Seoul during February with Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics in full swing then. Also a 100-day countdown special will appear on the US version of the Olympic Channel:

First big CBC Pyeongchang 2018 broadcasting outlining details emerged yesterday morning, the day before the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committees revealed the 2018 Canada's Olympic uniforms with the Hudson Bay Company also in Toronto: Scott Russell in his 14th Olympics anchors CBC Olympic Games Primetime (6PM-1AM Canada/US CT), a show that showcases Canada's performances "weaving the day's best medal moments into the morning's unfolding events" with live beginning of the day performances; Andi Petrillo goes into her third Olympics co-hosting Olympic Games Morning (5-11AM) with ex-diver Alexandre Despatie, making his English CBC Olympic debut summing up and keeping abreast about what happened last night and setting today's comp as the previous day ends; two former Canadian Olympics who know competing in the snow turned CBC Olympic vets, snowboarder Craig McMorris and alpine skiier Kelly VanderBeek, co-host Olympic Games Overnight (1-5AM) live from nearby Bokwang Snow Park, naturally where freestyle skiing and snowboard events will take place and can present the daily big events and finals. All will be streamed live online/mobile on the CBC's Olympic digital platforms. Many of the familiar names in the play-by-play realm and expert analysts for each Winter Olympic sport should be back for Pyeongchang with a new face or two among them, we can expect.

This photo's and illustration's article and press release, respectively, at the links below should give us a very strong indicator as to what the CBC's Pyeongchang 2018 studio set at the IBC and intro should resemble (you can surely play the CBC Olympic theme inside your head with them); some of this reminds me of those sets perhaps that inspired this when several Seoul 1988 sets from TV broadcasters worldwide acting as a motif. This CBC set unveiled here merges the Korean influences with lots of marble and wood for the clean look. Also all that will incorporate 3D graphic technology prominently with an athletes' showcase wall into the studio. Interesting that Despatie made the jump to the English side. Perhaps there won't be as much opportunity and assignments for him on the Radio-Canada Television side in Montreal. Maybe he wants to test his mettle there--he should be solid. In any case, there won't be any CBC Olympic Games Afternoon as there usually is with them, despite pledging to being round-the-clock. 17 hours daily isn't shabby was expecting a few more for, say, no more than 22 hours. Still will be much time for local CBC News and The National with not much room for entertainment during the Olympic-free broadcasting zone from 11am-6pm. Wish the CBC would have at least two national TV channels instead of just one; there ought to be a CBC 2 in existence right now. Two of the three CBC Olympic segments are going to be where the hockey will be located but usually won't bleed onto each other, even with the pre- and post-game analysis that's mostly on Olympic Games Overnight and Morning.

No details emerged regarding on some news about SRC's Pyeongchang 2018 broadcasts plans like studio hosts

In commentating about the absence of NBC pulling the plug on NHL games broadcasting for the month of February since the NHL won't willfully submit its players to South Korea (even when there's an actual national primetime TV window for NBCSN), Scott D. Pierce notes NBC primetime anchor Mike Tirico says the USA women's national hockey team, current world champions, could use this "real estate" to their advantage as continuing its strength for Team USA's medal success (usually golden):

Sweden's Kanal 5 may have a dilemma on its hands when on the very same time Tre Kronor makes its Pyeongchang debut in Group C with neighbors Norway in ice hockey at 8:40am Sweden time on February 15, Charlotte Kalla chases for gold in 10KM nordic cross country skiing. What Kanal 5 will show as the round the clock Olympic Channel? My guess is it will send the Sweden-Norway game to Kanal 9 as Team Sverige will have more times to definitely appear on Kanal 5 and Kalla's event is more of a one-off. Also, the Discovery/Eurosport/Kanal 5/9 channels has added other notable Swedish former Winter sports athletes Per Elofsson (cross country skiing), Anders Södergren (cross country skiing), Hans Olsson (alpine skiing), and Carl-Johan Bergman (biathlon) on board as the latest experts with Jonas Karlsson, Jessica Almenäs and Karin Frick leading the broadcasts as studio anchors from South Korea:

The one conflict that could be interesting is when the gold medal men's hockey game is at the same time(or overlapping it seems) with the NHL game Edmonton @ Los Angeles, if Canada happens to be playing that game, then i could see CBC airing the gold medal game with one of the SportsNet channels airing the Oilers/Kings game.

What I really plan to say in full before I accidentally pressed the enter button yesterday is...Surely the CBC will air the gold medal men's hockey game live regardless, Canada present or not, as it's one of the 4 final sports events of the Winter Olympics--5 if you count the figure skating exhibition gala starring all the medalists in that sport with the rest being all medal-winning ones--on the final day that's February 25. But I would expect a simulcast on both Rogers SportsNet and TSN on the English Canadian TV side with similarly with SRC/Radio-Canada and RDS on the French side. Even if there are no NHL players involved. That Edmonton Oilers-Los Angeles Kings NHL game I believe will actually otherwise make its way to get televised instead on SportsNet One or if not City TV.

Susanne Furoy Wergeland, formerly at TV 2 Sports Norge, already made herself at home currently as TVNorge/Eurosport Norge/MAX sports anchor including at the studio. Wergeland plans to be involved as part of the TVNorge/Eurosport Norge Pyeongchang 2018 sportscasting team as studio anchor along with the likes of Anne Rimmen, Jon Almaas even with the fact she would've gave birth to a daughter as a mom for the first time three months earlier from that (she's expecting in November) and of the complications that brings like bringing along some important "shipments" when she and her child heads to South Korea, making her extremely busy. She also supports her reunited colleague from TV 2 Helene Husvik in her saga:

Former alpine skiier Tom Stiansen, best known as the 71 Degrees Nord host, joined Discovery Norge already last year as the Pyeongchang 2018 skiing analytical expert for TVNorge/Eurosport Norge/MAX's coverage. Stiansen is excited to cover a young crop of Norwegian skiiers ready to make an impact there next February with his smooth style:

Get ready for France Televisions presenting over 300 hours, with 200 of them live, in total of its exclusive Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic coverage that will be shown on France 2, France 3, and France 4 with a very large volume on all three channels. An additional 800 hours will get shown exclusively on the digital platform side through online/mobile on francetvsport.com that will help cover all the Winter Olympic events. France Televisions' coverage will start daily on midnight (France time) with Stade 3 host Celine Geraud hosting and then onward to 13 hours of live action starting at 2am that will largely feature skiing in the late night hours and biathlon at midday. Coverage ends with Laurent Luyat hosting a daily 2-hour late afternoon Olympic news/summary magazine show. Despite the 8-hour time difference. 10 commentators and 13 sports analysts (or consultants) will be present including other France Televisions sports returnees like Alexandre Pasteur and his pals Carole Montillet and Luc Alphand (alpine downhill skiing) after covering the sport for 22 years at Eurosport, Philippe Candoloro (figure skating), and Alexandre Boyon (biathlon). Both Alexandres will also present the Opening Ceremonies. What also was announced was that France Televisions also struck an Olympic social media deal with Snapchat. France TV Sport's coverage of the Winter Paralympics will follow much of the same patterns. All presented at a special glorified press conference at the Salle Pleyel in Paris hosted by Boyon. Related articles from the same event center on the announcement of Club Med becoming an official partner of the France Olympic Team under the "Esprit Bleu" campaign like with France Televisions and that Martin Fourcaude was selected as France's flagbearer when coming in during the Opening Ceremony:

We now got some news since April regarding who's the other Finnish Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic TV broadcaster along with state broadcaster YLE that's got the exclusive Finnish Olympic rights to ice hockey. YLE will have everything else on the FTA side that will be on definitely TV2 and Swedish-language channel FST5/YLE Fem. We knew it would be a Discovery-related company and Eurosport will get them but it's sister channel TV5, operated by SBS Discovery Company that's a subsidiary of Discovery that also since adopted Swedish sister channel Kanal 5's logo, that will both cover the men's ice hockey. TV5 will handle all of the defending bronze medalists Team Suomi, aka the Leijoni, games (including the almost all-Scandinavian Group C ones) along with the semifinals, bronze, and gold medal games as Eurosport will handle all the men's hockey games. F1 commentator Oskar Saari, who actually also conducted play-by-play ice hockey in his resume, and iconic Finnish hockey analyst JP Jalo, a man who breaks the sport down internationally at the highest quality since the 1980s, are your TV5/Eurosport in-venue hockey sportscasting tandem. Minna Korkka and analysts HIFK coach Antti Tormanen and Stanley Cup champion with Chicago and former Finland national team defenseman and 5x Olympian Kimmo Timmonen are the TV5/Eurosport ice hockey studio team. Finland with TV5 will still attract huge Finnish TV audiences even without the NHL stars. Plus, TV5 will have a daily 2-hour primetime Olympic highlight program at 19-21 (7-9pm) Finland time co-hosted by Kiira Korpi, Sami Hedberg, and Juhani Henriksson in the studio with sports journalists Kaj Kunnas, Laura Ruohola and Toni Roponen on location. This program, called The Day of the Best Entertainment Show, will provide a mixture of Olympic news, highlights, interviews, analysis, and entertainment. Under this time slot, YLE can't show any Olympic programming

During its Rio 2018 coverage, NBC Sports was so astonished with its huge Olympic social media receptions from the Millenials at 35 million it purposely attracted into the Olympic movement at the U24 level from YouTube, Snapchat, and Buzzfeed like with its quick YouTube Olympic clips and the Rio Snapchat Discover Stories gobbling them up. As Olympic media consumption continues to evolve with its attempts to attract and stay relevant with younger audiences that won't watch traditional linear TV, NBC and those social media entities aim for bigger and better with Pyeongchang 2018 with the return of those NBC Olympic highlight clips on YouTube and Snapchat Discover stories plus more coverage there and new material like fan-submitted Our Story on Snapchat, and Buzzfeed's Publisher Stories:

Listings of sports DR and Eurosport will exclusively distributed in Denmark with their respective Pyeongchang 2018 portions during their shared coverage upon their agreement this past month. Eurosport has the more iconic Winter Olympic sports that are more lucrative to the Danish audience as well as globally. Curling will be the only sport shared by both with perhaps DR having the exclusive Denmark games (if they qualify). Though I do expect that both ceremonies will be on DR with a potential Eurosport simulcast, which could an announcement at a later date. Does make Eurosport Player, its streaming service, will cover all the sports online during the 2018-2020 Olympic cycle while DR has the right to cover what sports it already televises live with both having access towards time-shifting presentations to cover those the other has exclusively live:

TVP Sport in Poland presently can only be seen as a paid channel on cable and digital satellite TV network packages. But just in time for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics come next February, TVP Sport HD will have one of the two public television slots allotted among the digital TV multiplex on MUX-8 and Roku (with another TVP channel TBD) free of charge:

Thanks for this.

Don't know what broadcasters will use the following. But NEP UK bought a $535,000 order to Vislink for the latest Vislink HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) 4K-capable HCAM Wireless Camera Systems with Focal Point Camera Control that will be used for not just 2018 Winter Olympics but also later in that year's Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Queensland. Thinking has to be at least the BBC:

And to keep it British for now, for British viewers PyeongChang 2018 will be broadcast live on Eurosport 1 & 2 and can be found on Sky (through channels 410 & 411) and Virgin (521 & 522), respectively, with that Eurosport Player One Year Pass at just under 30 pounds. Schedule from Eurosport will of course come as we get closer:

More and better looks at the aforementioned Korean-inspired CBC/Radio-Canada Pyeongchang 2018 studios sets used this coming February. Two will be used for both, of the same exact design at the IBC, with an additional one, also mentioned on my last big post, located at nearby Bokwang Snow Park for snowboarding and freestyle skiing. Plus, we get to hear that just-released Korean-inspired rendition of the classic CBC Olympic theme music that plays off from the CBC's main Olympic melody like so many past ones in a Games Bids premiere. Not only that, but the CBC is uniquely and actively scouting school music classes across Canada to arrange their own CBC Olympic theme versions that could see usage during the CBC/SRC Olympic coverage:

http://www.newscaststudio.com/2017/10/16/first-look-cbcs-pyeongchang-olympics-studio-theme-music/

Another Danish article detailing the exclusive distribution of Olympic sports during this 2018-2020 Olympic cycle between broadcasters Eurosport/Discovery and DR as both are sharing the coverage this time on all its platforms. Had the Danish hockey teams qualified, either men or women though more likely the men, DR probrably would have rights to their games like we're seeing with the handball:

http://www.recordere.dk/2017/08/discovery-dr-deler-ol/

Been thinking about how the Seven Network, aka Channel 7, will do its exclusive Pyeongchang 2018 coverage coming next February. No doubt it has to be the biggest Winter Olympics broadcast in Australian terrestrial television history. Bigger than what Nine and Ten did with the last two and certainly more so than what Seven previous done, usually hovering around 100 hours then (excluding the FOXTEL multichannel hours). Seven proper will get there, but I guess it'll be like Rio 2016 with using the 7Mate and 7TWO subchannels again under the same format like using 7TWO for figure skating, short track, cross country skiing, freestyle skiing, and biathlon with 7Mate doing ice hockey, snowboarding, curling, bobsledding, luge/skeleton, and ski jumping. Now how Seven is going to have the Olympic events distribute the events is still unknown at this point but surely an announcement will be made soon. But the coverage will undoubtably be way more than the minimum 100 TV hours required for the Winter Olympics mandated by the IOC and be more nonstop with lengthy programming blocks. In sports that Australia has medalled like short track, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding, surely Channel 7 will like to have those with potential promotion like on Torah Bright and Lydia Lassila. Surely Steven Bradbury and Alisa Camplin will be on hand for Seven as sportscasting analysts in short track and freestyle skiing, respectively. Wonder if Bruce McAvaney will stay on as chief studio anchor host or emulate Bob Costas in the US and hand over the reins to someone like Mel McLaughlin. Answers are pending and are coming after Seven puts in the finishing touches.

Very little English-language (or translatable via Google at least) South Korean media developments regarding as hosts of Pyeongchang 2018 trickles its way online. When it does, it's the technical aspects. Perhaps the likes of SBS, KBS, and MBC are awaiting the 100-day mark before it goes public with its announcements. At least one of them, though surely all three, will go wall-to-wall as they all seem to simulcast the programming with events and its potential South Korean Winter Olympic medal contenders. Need to study more about its coverage past with those three to find programming patterns, for example. Latest one is tech-oriented with SBS, KBS, and MBC all helped install in launching the world’s first terrestrial ATSC 3.0 broadcast network in South Korea for free Ultra HD broadcasts that includes a total of 31 Rohde & Schwarz transmitter systems from the German company at 11 locations, including Seoul since May with other regions to follow. Later at the end of the year it'll follow with 27 transmitter systems to be put into operation:

NBC Sports boss Mark Lazarus says this afternoon at the NAB New York Show that NBC will cover 6000 HOURS with every event from Pyeongchang 2018 broadcast made through TV, cable, and digital streaming with advertising sales across all platforms. Like to see what the breakdown will be with all the NBC parties involved (including social media), which I'm starting to think we will finally see some daily comprehensive Spanish TV coverage on both Telemundo and NBC Universo instead of daily highlights (though I could eventually be proven wrong) and definitely VR 360 along with of course NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app. We know the Snapchat and Buzzfeed portions are there, as previously mention where the younger American Olympic fans will consume their viewing, as the predominate and desired but also apparently fickle and quickly disinterested 18-35 age range they rapidly move away from the traditional TV ratings scenario. On-demand overall (that is, after being shown live on all TV and online platforms) will count. Advertising sales for NBC is "coming along slowly 'but starting to pick up steam' ". Sure, as we get closer and come after the 100-day countdown mark. When I saw the Google entry for NBC 2018 Winter Olympics saying that NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Telemundo, and NBC Universo on the TV side interestingly including the Olympic Channel but with that, we know, it's going to be Olympic news, highlights, and analysis and definitely not events. But it gets counted in the roster. Plus, NBC plans to help its affiliates with their own distinct and localized Olympic-themed advertising and sales campaigns with video footage of local Winter Olympians to cheer on. Might even see NBC take a stab at ATSC 3.0 by then. Take at least some of this about what I just now say with a grain of salt:

Speaking of Snapchat, Discovery's Eurosport follows NBC, CBC/Radio-Canada, and France Televisions in the Snapchat 2018 Olympic social networking with its multi-language deal across 50 European nations and territories not named Russia in seeking that coveted young demographic like those "Producer Stories", behind-the-scenes action of various Winter Olympic sports, and Olympic Snaps as mobile content. Seems only natural both Snap and NBCUniversal would get together to form a digital content studio with perhaps an Olympic specific one down the road:

I'm a little suspect over that 6,000 hours number.  I know you're just recapping the article for us, but that can't be accurate.  The total for Rio was in the 6,000 hour range.  For Sochi, it was 1,549.  I'm guessing they're using the Rio number and applying it here because there's no way that the amount of coverage has suddenly quadrupled from 4 years ago.

Also, what exactly is the "Google entry" you're talking about?  Are you sure you're not referring to the Wikipedia page?  That mentions the Olympic Channel, but without a source.  So I'd take that with a major grain of salt.  And no, we don't *know* what they're going to happen.  We can only speculate at this point

6000 hours sure doesn't seem right to me too--and inaccurate--since there's FAR less events featured in the Winter Olympics than in the Summer version, even with the recent expansion of a few more disciplines. And I really don't think it'll barely reach 2000 for this unless, say, a more comprehensive Spanish coverage gets added instead of daily highlights (something I long wished). The 6000 hours certainly confused me, and I really think Lazarus, as you say, just put it there to apply as an example. Hence my somewhat confusing applying of the VR (we'll get that for sure as a Winter Olympics debut), the possible Spanish coverage, online and app streaming hours and overlapped/repeat hours along with the TV networks. Goes without saying that Lazarus and the rest of NBC Sports will definitely let us all know officially very soon within the next few months

LOL Durban. If it looked confusing and inaccurate, why would you share that and try to make sense of it?  Thank you for sharing that article, but if you see something that doesn't look right, you're allowed to say so rather than just to summarize what you read.

Sorry, I honestly didn't see your post, Quaker.

Anyway, much fuller details have emerged since with NBC's 100-day Winter Olympic countdown plans for Wednesday that includes the details of the 50 American Winter Olympic athletes getting involved in the WinterFest and Ashley Wagner skating at Rockerfeller Center sporting Olympic rings:

https://www.sportsvideo.org/2017/10/27/nbcuniversal-celebrates-100-days-until-the-2018-pyeongchang-winter-olympics/

100 pieces of content will come from the Olympic Channel that will range from sports guides to athletes' profiles and five documentaries modeled after ESPN's famous 30 For 30 series by Frank Marshall in their own 100-countdown. And starting on November 1 BeIN Sports' version will launch a second 24/7 linear channel of the Olympic Channel in the Middle East and North Africa that will devote itself towards Olympic sports live from Pyeongchang:

NBC Expects More Than $1 Billion in Ad Sales from Super Bowl, Winter Olympics

The Comcast-owned company currently expects to snare around $350 million in ad revenue from the Super Bowl, said Dan Lovinger, executive vice president of ad sales for NBC Sports Group, and anticipates getting a revenue increase in the “low double digits” percentage range above the approximately $800 million it secured from its coverage of the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014.

The company has seen no diminishing of advertiser interest in the PyeongChang event despite recent unrest in that part of the world, said Lovinger. But he did suggest NBCU would likely lower its ratings guarantees that it makes to advertisers, a sign that other forms of media are luring consumers away from a linear TV broadcast. “We are probably guaranteeing somewhere in the neighborhood of where we finished our Sochi games, perhaps a tad lower,” he said.

Eurosport's Pyeongchang 2018 campaign slogan is called "Make It Yours", no doubt that's a sign of Eurosport's strong and deep commitment to attract younger millenial Olympic fans through fully for the first time in Europe using digital media and social media, where the viewership is very high and the pan-European sports channel recruits "Europe's biggest digital influencers" to embed onto its digital teams and watch it non-traditional means. And also a reference that viewers obviously get to customize their own preferential Olympic viewing habits for Pyeongchang (and surely for Tokyo), live and on-demand. The 4000+ hours on the Eurosport channels is of course for both TV and on the digital side across the 48 European markets (territories included) using 42 languages. The 150 sportscasters includes 58 Olympians with a combined 78 medals under their belts. 12 Eurosport Olympic studios will be used. As will 1100 cameras. AR and VR technology is to be combined in that mixed reality studio. Every Olympic event live and shown all over Europe for the first time ever.

Orange Spain allows Discovery's Eurosport coverage of both Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics and Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics on its Orange TV platform with the addition of Eurosport 2 at no additional charge. Plus and more interestingly for this partnership is to see addition of 80 hours of the Pyeongchang 2018 coverage broadcast in 4K on a separate channel via a 4K UHD set-top box:

Profiling Kelly Vander Beek, the CBC Olympic Latenight co-host on its own outdoor studio and the more fun and loose atmosphere with athletes an guests dropping by and with some experimentation and getting her modest start that progressively grew with Canadian Olympic Broadcasting Media Consortium in 2010-2012 after torchbearing that earned her more offers. All this after her dream of a medal in Vancouver for Canada as an alpine skiier was then literally shattered in a physical sense:

http://www.rmoutlook.com/article/Canmorite-seizes-CBC-Olympics-hosting-reigns-20171026

The CBC Olympic broadcast theme rendition challenges done by Canadian school music classes certainly is no joke...

What NBC, NBC Sports Network, and the Team USA Olympic Channel will offer with skiing and figure skating will each have 200 hours during this winter season.
