  1. Here's a link to one of the videos from today's presentation: http://www.lequipe.fr/Tous-sports/Actualites/Paris-a-presente-sa-candidature-devant-l-assemblee-generale-des-comites-nationaux-olympiques/749576
  2. After 4 failed bids, do you really think Paris would be back for 2028? Don't count on that. And I didn't say Paris 2024 would be playing that card. That was just my opinion there. But I have to agree on one thing, they sure can win on merit.
  3. Both Paris and LA bids are equally strong. The only difference is that the IOC can't really afford to refuse a strong european bid (and even more after today), while they know they can get the US whenever they want.
  4. And who the hell is this guy? I mean, his only arguments againt Paris is terrorism. Is this the only thing he has to say about Paris, really? After what happened in the US? And "vine" is the reason why LA should get the Games? Really? WTF...
  5. Exactly. And basically, if this is the US turn, not only Paris should drop out, but also Rome and Budapest. I find it extremely surprising though that some "IOC insiders" would say such a thing. Has it ever happened before, and did it turn out true? Would the IOC be mad enough to rule out European bids after 2022? Do the IOC really want to say "**** off" to Europe right now?
  6. Can you share your source please? I can't seem to find it on the internet.
  7. Appart from you! Errr. WTF? Are you for real? Well here it is: You shall now be named Trump the 2nd.
  8. LA will get the Games again eventually, and I just can't wait for it! No matter when, the nasty French will be there! (How amazing would it be to have Paris handover the Olympic Flag to LA!)
  9. Trump hates France, and many other countries. Should he be elected and should LA get the 2024 Games, I'm sure he would ban many national teams from those Games. Team USA would probably be the only team competing...
  10. Well, when you write that this Garcetti guy would put to shame all the other bids' mayors, what do you expect us to read? Please tell us, cause personnally I can't wait to finally be able to speak your language.
  11. The 3 cities would be Paris, Rome and LA. Apparently they recevied the media to visit their "bid house", which is considered promotion for the bid and forbidden by the IOC. The IOC sent an e-mail to warn the 3 cities. Nothing to worry about though.
  12. Ahahah. Brilliant. Let's not wait 2017 and award the 2024 Games to LA right now! I mean, the guy is a freaking ROCK STAR! Interestingly, all the strong aspects of the LA bid listed here also work for the Paris bid. I'm glad that at least in the French articles about Paris 2024 they mention LA's strong bid. And we're the arrogant ones...
  13. It's obviously very convinient for you Americans. But for the rest of the world.... If noone but the Americans can watch the Games, what's the point. And it's going to be that way untill 2032? Gee! NBC even tried to have the nations parade for Rio 2016 be in English, so that the US would be at the end and make sure the family in Utah watch until the end. In Portuguese they will be at the beginning. Thank god the IOC still had some balls to tell them 'no'.
  14. So, we all know that NBC has spent billions for the Olympics. I didn't realize until know what it would imply. But now that I've just realized that I won't be able to watch the Rio 2016 competitions live (cause all the major ones will be taking place between 3 and 4 am in France, while there's only 5 hours between Brazil and France), I'm starting to wonder about this whole thing. I've read that some athletes are really upset about this. In the 2008 Games they had to compete for the swimming finals in the morning, and now in Rio it will have to be at 10 pm. WTF??? How can the IOC let that happen? Fucking money...
  15. 30 minutes press conference today for the 4 candidates of the 2024 Games. I hope we'll get something new.

  17. For once, I have to agree with you Ruff. And interestingly, I've been thinking lately that Paris should drop out of the 2024 race. The Olympics are no longer what they used to be. The IOC is very lucky to have cities such as LA, Paris and Rome in this race. I actually think they don't deserve this. I suppose we all have this reaction after what the IOC decided regarding Russia and the 2016 Games. The IOC has no balls. Just give the Games to Budapest already.
  18. I had really high expectations about the Barra clusted. To me it would be such a colourful and greenary park. Less than 2 weeks before the opening, the look is very disappointing. Look, Rio is a very green city. London is more of a grey city. And yet, the London Olympic Park was much greener and nicer than the Rio one. It doesn't make sense to me.
  19. What's best? Completely ban Russia of the Rio Games, or have some of them participate, win some medals, and be completely destroyed by the media and the whole world. I mean, if some Russian athletes get to participate and win some medals, what would you think?
  20. 20 years already! Its feels like it was yesterday.......
  21. Hmm, no. That's not how the IOC works.
  22. I'm so tired. I'm so, so upset. I'm so, so, so sad. I woke up this morning, and burst into tears. Is this normal? When will this madness ever stop?
  23. There's a Paris 2024 thread for that.
  24. Oh god.... Oui, the IOC should forbid Paris to ever bid again for that. After all, they've taken pictures of LA venues and posted an image of a sunny Paris. This is not cheating, this is TREASON! Off with their head!
  25. And? Like the LA2024 said, those venues are no secrets. Is bidding for the Olympics some sort of Cold War, with spies and stuff? No. It's not forbidden by the IOC. I don't know why they did it but after all, why not!? LA is more than welcome here in Paris to see the venues for Paris 2024.
