  1. Here is the official soundtrack from the Paris 2024 opening ceremony. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lGtHcurDG-_2487CfrhVB-nhX-RTDMOFc
  2. I was really disappointed by the handover. Since I was there, I was excited by the Tom Cruise thing, but it was short, and as soon as he left, we got 15 minutes on video of american singers on the beach. We did have video as well in Tokyo for the Paris handover, but it was due to Covid back then. What is LA's justification for the use of video? People in the stadium got bored quickly, were checking their phones, and many started to leave at that point. I wish we could go back to proper handovers like we had in Beijing, London and Rio (my favourite).
  3. Well, it certainly has been a while... I've been living and working in Versailles for the past 3,5 years. I've been very excited about the games, as you can assume. I went to the opening and closing ceremony, as well as 7 events (not counting the cycling and marathons going through Versailles). And, boy, what can I say. It's quite hard to describe what I felt. The best experience of my life? I can die happy now? My dream was experiencing the Olympic Games. And I did it. The venues were astounding, the people were fantastic, everything was insane. What an experience, going to the Games! I'm not objective at all, but I do feel that those games were one of the best I've ever seen. Now I'm looking forward to going to the Paralympics. It's been great reading from you guys, maybe I'll stick around for a bit..
  4. In "I, Tonya", right before that scene when Tonya skates on a ZZtop song, while the skater before Tonya is finishing, they used the Albertville look by mistake.
  5. Here you have the CBS coverage of the Albertville 1992 opening ceremony. It's in several parts, and begins way before the actual opening ceremony (which was kind of interesting)
  6. Of course, yes. So films have to pay a lot of money to the IOC if they want to use the official logos and stuff. Cause in "Eddie the Eagle", the logo and branding and everything seemed very accurate. I guess it depends on the film's budget.
  7. And here's a comparison video between the actual video and how it's portrayed in the movie. Indeed, it's quite alright but, they couldn't get the official logo right, or even the "look of the games" right.
  8. I have this feeling too. With 3 consecutive Games in Asia, then Paris, then 3 consecutive Games in North America, Paris will feel like quite a breathe of fresh air
  9. Hi JO, (giggles).

  10. Hello :) I'm trying to pm you again but it says you can't receive messages. I don't know why. Anyway I only wanted to ask whether you'd like to enter the Olympic logo comp that's on now & closes for submission on Wednesday. Sorry about the short notice but I tried to pm you last week & it wouldn't let me & I didn't know I could do this. Sorry, & thank you :)

I should've added - if you are interested, my inbox has free space so you can PM me.

  11. I love the opening ceremony from Albertville 1992. It's so unique, so different from what was done before (and after). It was the first opening ceremony I watched, I was 5, and I still remember how amazed I was. But I know for sure the opening for the 2024 games will be very different. I just hope it won't be too generic or cliché like what they gave us for the opening of the 2016 euro cup.
  12. I was thinking the exact same thing. So Paris 2024 is accused of giving ultimatums when they say they can only bid for 2024, but then when LA 2024 say they won't be bidding again that's not an ultimatum? Tsssssss...

  14. Ok. So just because Gamesbids isn't talking about it, the Paris 2024 bid report was really really good. There you go. No surprises here, but since there was a whole article about it from Gamesbids, I thought I should balance it up a bit. My sources are from a French website, so I thought it wouldn't interest you. But just in case, here you go: http://sport24.lefigaro.fr/jeux-olympiques/jo-2024/actualites/paris-2024-encense-par-la-commission-d-evaluation-du-cio-867055
