  1. NBC is starting to anger me with the amount of ads. They just came back from break, showed two ski jumps, THEN WENT BACK TO BREAK! I know they need to get there money back, but its getting ridiculous.
  2. I can see why she didn't, but it would have been cool to see Queen Elizibeth II open back to back Olympics.
  3. Why are they introduced as Great Britain, instead of United Kingdom (of Great Britain and Northern Ireland)? GB is an island, not the name of the country right?
  4. Amazing that CNN hasn't even mentioned it. In fact, they just went through a cheery segment talking about luge and the US flag bearer a few minutes ago.
  5. Shocking news. Terrible terrible start to the games.
  6. Looks like NBC took down the video of the training session.
  7. NBC just showed the 4x400 semis. Really nice to see the British anchor taunting...in a semifinal.
  8. Well the top isn't a surprise. There wasn't much doubt that China would dominate in golds and the US would dominate in total medals. Congrats to Tajikistan, Togo, and Afghanistan for winning their first medals (did I forget anyone?). What a great Olympics for Great Britain too.
  9. The lack of roids caused them to drop the baton?
  10. Not to sound like the poor sport American, but what the heck is up with the format in softball? First, the US dominates every team in pool play, earning the number one seed. For some reason, they play the number 2 seed (Japan) in bracket play. They beat them again. The 3 and 4 seeds play against each other in order to face Japan. Then, Japan gets another shot at the US. Just looking at that, it sounds like your normal double elimination tournament. You would think the format would require Japan to beat the US twice to win gold. Oh well, what can you do.
  11. I look at it this way. Bolt broke the WR in what might be the two most prestigious events of the Games. If someone would have taken 3 seconds of the 5000m WR and 7 seconds off the 10,000m WR and I came on here an said what they did was more impressive than Phelps, you would call me crazy. What Bolt did was incredible, but it doesn't compare to Phelps who won 8 gold medals with 17 races in 8 days.
