  1. So as @Quaker2001 brought up in the general thread, the schedule is officially out. This now means we have the scheduled times for the Olympic Ceremonies: Olympic Opening Ceremony: 5 PM PDT Olympic Closing Ceremony: 6 PM PDT Sunset in LA isn't until 8 PM, so it looks like we'll be getting conditions similar to the LA84 ceremonies. This means what we have gotten used to from previous ceremonies (minus Paris) - projections - will probably not be used as it'll be too bright (even at SoFi, as the roof is translucent)

  2. A few notes at first glance.. Competition beings on Wednesday 7/12 with several sports including basketball. Looks like they're spacing out the quarterfinals to have that all run longer, although that's mostly to limite the overlap with swimming We know that track and field and swimming are swapping weeks. Track goes 7/15 through 7/24. Most of the finals sessions are in the 4pm-6:30pm range (local time). The marathons are still the last 2 days of the games, so that's saved for the end. Swimming goes 7/22 through 7/30.. yes, there will be a finals session on the last day of the games. Finals sessions except for the last day are all 6pm-8pm local, so that will be 9pm-11pm ET. The last event of the Olympics will be the final swimming session ending just 90 minutes before the opening ceremony is scheduled to start. Gymnastics is in its usual week 1 spot. The team finals and all-around each end at 8:30pm local/11:30pm ET. Windows for beach volleyball are primarily.. 9am-12pm PT / 12pm-3pm ET 2pm-6pm PT / 5pm-9pm ET 8pm-11pm PT / 11pm-2am ET
