And this single 'bid' phase book -- can we just have members guess what's in our minds? Yaknow, like telepathic paging of bid books in the cerebral cortex? It would be a first, yaknow.... Isn't, 'have it your way' the slogan for Wedney's or Subway or one of them.
Lord David Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 I am announcing new day in silly sport festival known as Olympic.I present - Well you do have the main stadium already in place.
Lord David Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Is it too late to submit an applicant city? Here's my bid! Quebec City 2016. "No, we're not going to do another Montreal!"
thatsnotmypuppy Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 I might just accept whoever comes up with a bid book by the due date of Feb 16 - so yeah, you're in.
Kenadian Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Get ready for..... "The Sunshine Games" All nice. No vice.
Lord David Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 But Miami Vice is pretty much all that Miami is famous for! Well perhaps, it'll allow them to put the Miami Area (Assuming it's still standing by 2016) into some use.
baron-pierreIV Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Get ready for..... "The Sunshine Games" All nice. No vice. I was just watching a rerun of GOLDEN GIRLS the other day and Rose and Dorothy entered a "Theme Song for Miami" contest and it was actually quite good -- the main verse being: "Miami, you've got style... Sandy beaches by the mile... So, quite appropriate, K. I, however, and unfortunately might not be able to do anything again this time. I am flying down to the OC this p.m. because my dad is at death's door (they are trying to dialyse him if his b.p. will go up). I had to cancel a job interview lined up for Friday. So the next few days will be topsy-turvy for me; so I don't think I can put together a bid package w/in the next 2 weeks. I hope I can still catch my old man this evening when I get there.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Ah Baron - forget about this comp - go see your Dad. My thoughts are with you.
Citius Altius Fortius Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 TNMP, I had sent you today the Hamburg Bid Book in three parts, which you might put together - the attachments please should be not together with the three parts, since they have another format. Please confirm that you get them thanks very much that you started this bid competition - it was really fun to write the bid book and I hope my bid will do well in the competition. thanks Martin
Citius Altius Fortius Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 by the way I sent it to nyc2012@gmail.com I hope that was right
thatsnotmypuppy Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Yep - all good. Thus far I have recieved the bid books from Hong Kong (well I made them - ha!!), Dortmund and Hamburg as well as... something... from Pyongyang.
Aronious Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 you should have the Cologne book by this afternoon...i will be releasing it personally tommorow, ragardless of the 16th deadline, which is when i assume you will post all the links.
james Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Am through with my bid bookand I want to send it to this email address nyc2012@gmail.com. Is that the right email address?
Lord David Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I am close to 100% done with my bid book, just want confirmation to the above address, that's correct right? We send it there?
Aronious Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 due to family matters colognes bid book will be released around the 20th of febuary.
ghost1 Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I also have to postpone the release of the Vienna 2016 Bid book. TNMP, will you accept bid books after the 16th?
Lord David Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Well currently it's 1:45 AM here, pretty much done, I think I'll add a reference page with links, try to make it linkable maybe, at any rate it'll still be printed. So expect it say 8 - 10 AM my time (AEST), you can go and calculate the time on yer own.
Sir Rols Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Whoa _ I thought I had until Saturday (16th) to get Cairo in. Luckily I've got most of it done, but still have to tweak it and make up a full sports/venue list. It will be in sometime today.
Lord David Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Ok, done and sent, just awaiting confirmation of the book being sent.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted February 15, 2008 Author Report Posted February 15, 2008 OK the initial due date is the 16th of Feb. However if a delay is needed here is what is going to happen - I will be collating and readying the bid evaluation report which will be released Feb 23. Thus the absolute final date is Feb 22 for any late bids that need a bit of final tweaking. Send them to nyc2012@gmail.com The report will contain the shortlist. I have not checked my gmail today but will tonight and will let you all know which bids I have recieved.
Lord David Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Upon further proofreading I found a simple error in PDF rendering as such, nothing major, still readable, just one page has wrong colors or whatnot, anyhow, you'll see, it's up to you if you'd want me to submit it again, it's not a big deal really.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted February 15, 2008 Author Report Posted February 15, 2008 OK - I have received Quebec City, Cairo (sorry Rol - the version of word you used means the whole thing is corrupted - I am re-assembling it and will email you the finished job for your approval), Hamburg, Dortmund, HK and Pyongyang thus far. The Calabar bid seems to have been emailed but with nothing attached. An omen?

An omen? Just wondering if it's the updated version or not. Anyhow, it's good to hear that it's been received. As for Calabar, I suppose the Nigerians there haven't figured out the concept of email attachments.
