thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Round 2 – Games Bids 2026 World Cup Competition Greetings everyone. Thank you for being patient - may I just briefly say I am thrilled at how well this competition has proceeded… thus far… We are now moving forward with round 2 where the final bidders submit their bid books. There will be two separate volumes needed – one with technical information, one with venue information. PART ONE Part one will require a basic introduction to your bid, a brief history of your country/countries sporting history, your finance/ticketing plan, your accommodation plan, your transport plan and your marketing plan. As a recommendation (you do NOT have to follow this plan) I’d expect a breakdown as such – Pg 1 – cover Pg 2 – iconic images of your country/countries and logo Pg 3 – introduction Pg 4 – your bid country/countries sporting heritage and football history Pg 5 – schedule of matches Pg 6 – general concept of your bid Pg 7 – finance plan and ticketing info Pg 8 – accommodation plan Pg 9 – transport information Pg 10 – brief summary PART TWO Pg 1 – cover Pg 2 – venue map/maps highlighting each host city Pg 3 – venue list, capacities and distances Pg 4 through to end – venue pictures, plans, any additional info. Back page – logo and iconic image of your bid. You can design your books in anyway you deem fit – but they must cover all the above topics. As with the first round, send me the pdf/word doc/powerpoint and I will convert it and upload it. nyc2012@gmail.com is the email address. I would like to have received all bid documents by January 5th – so two weeks. On that date I will endeavour to release a candidate report and then announce voting information. All will be posted online at the same time. You could realistically knock these bid documents out in a couple of hours max. Each bidder can now start a separate thread (two already have) to announce any news stories, to gossip or argue. Keep it relatively friendly for now!!! Feel free to discuss general issues or seek any clarification in this thread. Below you will find some examples of the previous world cup bid competition final bid books. 2018 Games Bids World Cup Competition Documents - Argentina 2018 Portugal 2018 Russia 2018 - Part One Russia 2018 - Part Two
Faster Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Puppy, I sent you a power point of my cities, if you could upload it, it would be great. Its more an ad than my actual books.
emre Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 well i made it but its 12 mb heheheh will u transform it into pdf?
thatsnotmypuppy Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 Hi emre - please email me your books when they are done to nyc2012@gmail.com So far I have recieved a brochure thing from Faster. I wont post it yet - after the bid books are in and the campaigning starts I will post it. Where is everyone at at the moment? Everyone still in?
Sir Rols Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Australia 2026 will have its bid book to you on Saturday Jan 5, probably around lunchtime AEDST.
KRATK Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I don't think I will be able to stay in the competition... I started to work today and I won't have time for the books
Citius Altius Fortius Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Ohh Kratk - that is a pitty!
thatsnotmypuppy Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 I don't think I will be able to stay in the competition... I started to work today and I won't have time for the books With all due respect Krakt - your bid books tend to be huge picture filled epics. Scale it down, save the big pic posts for the campaign round. You should easily be able to knock out a bid book in an hour maximum.
KRATK Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 In fact, the problem isn't the images... the most difficult is the text, trying to translate my thoughts in Spanish to English... at least, I have fun with the first round and I hope the second round will be as great as the first one. Good luck to the other bids...
emre Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 hey picachu i ccanot mail it. its too big.. can u give yor msn adrress ?
thatsnotmypuppy Posted January 5, 2008 Author Report Posted January 5, 2008 Hi emre - if its a word doc - just cut it into two files and I can put it back together...?
emre Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 well i made it with power point... i can cut into 5
james Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 I guess power point is mainly for presentation. Large quantity as the one you emphasised, Emre needs to be done in Miscrosoft word to make things more easier for you my friend.
emre Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 hmm so its a presentation its so quick for me to do such things in power point although i made it very simple
thatsnotmypuppy Posted January 5, 2008 Author Report Posted January 5, 2008 Powerpoint is fine - I can convert it to PDF very easily. Just email the parts through to nyc2012@gmail.com and tell mark them part 1, part 2 etc so I can put them back together.
Sir Rols Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 So when can we expect the evaluation and the release of the bid books? (by the way, you DID receive ours, didn't you?)

Citius Altius Fortius Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 TNMP. .. how many bids are still in the competition and how many bid books are still missing? ... did you have thought about a special until the bid books have to be sent to you?
james Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Am watching! I can only clap for the winner.
Scotguy Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 What happens after all of this, does everyone vote for a winner?
