speaking of logos...

New Zealand Bid Releases Logo

The applicant logo for New Zealands 2026 bid represents aspects of the natural environment of New Zealand contrasting with marine life with the Kiwi bird, the countries national animal. Together with colours that represent both New Zealand as an island (green kiwi) surrounded by vast oceans of blue, the image is shaped into a round sphere- representing the shape of a football. New Zealand is a country lost within the vast oceans of world football...in need of "New Light".

bu i do have to tell you this seems too enviromental and not so much sporty (or "footbally")

Oh, yes, 2018 was great... memories... Sofia finished third...

Yes, 2018 was closest we have come to a real competition and a great fun

Ill have you know i've only "won" one contest...the first...2020...which infact was victory by defult because back then nobody had the time to download the 50mB bid files from Van-gay-ver or Lame-bourne...aside from the fact the opposing bidder was an aparent school teacher from BC who turned out to be gay and about a quater his (or her...know one really knows for sure) age.

NOW GET GOING YOU SLACK BASTARD! if i dont see a half shabby northern ireland bid by the cut off you'll suffer the full wrath of the GBOC!!!! GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

when is gonna begin the voting procedure?

some preliminary opinions (hope they can be constructive and not offending):

- TUR+GRE: the logo doesn't link neither to GRE or TUR

- Gulf region: i don't like neither this logo. the stadia are too spread. maybe it's the idea itself which is too "utopistic".

- NZ: no logo but you can work on the motto which could be very impressive and vibrant

- scandinavian: i didn't understand how many stadia you wanna use.

- ESP: too few explanations

- CHI: do love the logo and the idea of bring there WC

- BUL+ROU: seems that work can get this idea very good. suggestion: don't use 2 logos for the countries. and secondly: saying that balcan peninsula is the most obsessed in football---too naive---there's italy! :D

- AUS: good. work on the logo.

- Nigeria:---nothing special to say.

i'd love to make a book and compete with you all, but now my thesis steal me all my time.

anyway, great jobs folks! :)

Wow... that was the greatest ever... Christchurch, Santiago, Sofia, München and Dubai in that order if I'm not mistaken. And Santiago won 2026 WOG... I don't know how the city will manage the WOG and the WC at the same time :lol:

dubai would have won if troy had all his aliases vote christchurch instead, so they would have been suspected of cheating & eliminated.

Shhhhhhh! You know that mentioning the next comp while the previous one is still just getting underway just distracts everyone and has everyone planning their next bid and logo. Even as I post here now, minds are probably musing (hmmm, Budapest?) and graphics packages are cranking up.

Ah, memory lane. 2018 had it all _ some good varied bids, some fun campaigning, a great scandal. Most exhilarating week I ever had on GamesBids.

And the GBOC! Couldn't organise a root in a brothel! Hey, did I officially wind it up, or am I still incumbent President of it? I can't remember.

No, I don't think the GBOC officiall exists any more (if it ever did). Plus, I'm involved in a bid in this comp. I don't think it's fair if I participated in judging*.

* That said, I have faith in Puppy's impartiality here

The Morocco 2026 Stadiums are all from the official 2010 bid site... The Morocco bid is from Mo Rush... :)

Also the Arica stadium in the Chile bid has a touch of the Moroccan about it too!

Here is the Turkey/Greece logo - I must say I do like it - though THROUGH is misspelt...
