james Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 The New Zealand bid carry something I don't like, ''All white game''. How do you mean all white game?
Sir Rols Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 The New Zealand bid carry something I don't like, ''All white game''. How do you mean all white game? It's nothing racist. The New Zealabnd Rugby Team wear a uniform that is all black, and they are nicknamed the "All Blacks". It is a very famous team name. The NZ Soccer team wear a team uniform that is all white. So they are called the "All Whites". It's just a tradition for NZ teams.

Rafa Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 finally..auckland gets its waterfront stadium
Aronious Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Waterfront stadium only restrict further devlopment. I'd like to see Eden COMPLETELY redone for RWC2011, though it looks like the waterfront option is more suitable to Aucklands development.
emre Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 ia m just waiting a friend to make a logo..my power point is ready. but not add cyprus.. just 1 city i can add from there and i cannot proper the scedule with it. just greece and turkiye
thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 I've posted the Turkey/greece bid book in the other thread. Its alot more indepth then everyone elses though!!
emre Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 well.. its at first 11 pages and more proffesional. and then changed into this one.. ( by the way its not my best project ) ehehehe
cesco_82 Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 when is gonna begin the voting procedure? some preliminary opinions (hope they can be constructive and not offending): - TUR+GRE: the logo doesn't link neither to GRE or TUR - Gulf region: i don't like neither this logo. the stadia are too spread. maybe it's the idea itself which is too "utopistic". - NZ: no logo but you can work on the motto which could be very impressive and vibrant - scandinavian: i didn't understand how many stadia you wanna use. - ESP: too few explanations - CHI: do love the logo and the idea of bring there WC - BUL+ROU: seems that work can get this idea very good. suggestion: don't use 2 logos for the countries. and secondly: saying that balcan peninsula is the most obsessed in football---too naive---there's italy! - AUS: good. work on the logo. - Nigeria:---nothing special to say. i'd love to make a book and compete with you all, but now my thesis steal me all my time. anyway, great jobs folks!
Aronious Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Have we decided on a voting format? I'm more in favour for a post vote rather than a pole as it will allow us to post 2nd or 3rd preferences, which i think will be vital to my bid and overall more fair. Also could the application report be presented as a regular text post in another thread rather than a PDF as i believe this will encourage more people to access it.
Faster Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 The first round is my committee selecting the most worthy applicants. Scandinavia's bid has 16 stadiums in total in Bergen, Trondheim, Stravanger, Oslo, Arhus, Aalborg, Esjberg, Copenhagen, Malmo, Goteborg, Stockholm, Solna, Lahti, Helsinki, Oulu and Turku. In the round of 16 Oslo, Bergen, Arhus, Copenhagen, Malmo, Stochkholm, Lahti and Helsinki will host matches, in the quater-finals Bergen, Arhus, Malmo and Lahti will host mathces, Oslo will host semi-final 1, Helsinki will host semi-final 2, Copenhagen will host the 3rd place match and Stockholm will host the final. Japan and Korea used 20 stadiums Group Match Stadiums - 3 total Quarter-final Stadiums - 5 matches total Semi-final Stadiums - 5 matches total. The exceptions are Copenhagen and Malmo which will host 8 matches. Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark need the new stadium infrastructure to further develop and promote the local leagues. The secondary stadiums in Finland will be converted into athletics facilities which would be well used in a country that loves athletics, Denmark just needs the infrastructure, Norway's stadiums will be used for future Olympic bids in the case of Trondheim and athletics ans soccer facilities in the case of the others. Sweden's stadiums will be used for athletics, football and concerts and the cities populations can support their size.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 OK - Less than 20 hours to go! We have nine candidates thus far - AUSTRALIA BULGARIA/ROMANIA CHILE THE GULF REGION NEW ZEALAND NIGERIA SCANDINAVIA SPAIN TURKEY/GREECE I do believe Baron may have been putting together something - if not that is it. I am working on the applicants report now. So noon tomorrow (Melbourne AEDST) is the deadline. Moving forward - A shortlist will be announced after the cut off date. The bids moving forward will be required to submit a bid book that will cover the following areas - CONCEPT VENUES TRANSPORT ACCOMMODATION BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE TICKETING PLAN AND PRICING EVENT TIMELINE (DRAW, DATES OF GAMES, ETC) CONCLUSION I would expect the bid book to be between 5-10 pages - it can be as detailed as you want. It MUST include maps showing where each venue is. You MUST have a logo. You can add as much additional info as you want - but you must cover the above 8 areas. The second round will be voted on by you - the GamesBids public. If there is 5 applicant bids, you will rate them 1 through 5 with 5 being the best, 1 the worst. Each position will garner points - Position 1 - 5 points Position 2 - 4 points Position 3 - 3 points Position 4 - 2 points Position 5 - 1 point Bid committee members will be able to vote - however they must put there own bid last. If a committee has more than 1 member, only one point will be given to their bid. We will vote round by round until there is a winner, the bid with the least points will go bye byes. If there is a draw for first, a simple poll will determine which of the two move forward. If this works well, we may try a 2032 Summer Olympic competition!!
Aronious Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 El prefecto...OH god 2032! again we are in time warp...did anyone acctually win the 2028 competition?
Faster Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 El prefecto...OH god 2032! again we are in time warp...did anyone acctually win the 2028 competition? Yep, Boston 2028. I have a problem with the logo requirements, I just don't have the software to come up with one and no one has been forthcoming with any help. I think something that is highly unimportant is not something that should be a must.
Aronious Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 speaking of logos... New Zealand Bid Releases Logo The applicant logo for New Zealands 2026 bid represents aspects of the natural environment of New Zealand contrasting with marine life with the Kiwi bird, the countries national animal. Together with colours that represent both New Zealand as an island (green kiwi) surrounded by vast oceans of blue, the image is shaped into a round sphere- representing the shape of a football. New Zealand is a country lost within the vast oceans of world football...in need of "New Light".
thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 Just google 'logo' and steal something. Most of us do that... You don't have to design one. I sure as sh*t didn't!!! 2028 kind of fell in on itself and Boston was the only one who offered enough info to be classed as a bid. As long as the voting doesnt become a shambles, this bid comp has shown we can do it with relative maturioty! Who would've thought!!!!????

Aronious Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 2018 was the closest we've come to a proper bid competition...Christchurch right? wasnt it...i did have a record of this once upon a time. lets see 2018: Christchurch? 2020: Melbourne 2022: ??? 2024: GBOC? 2026: Ulan Bator??? ala Istanbul process 2028: Boston
thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 Santiago won 2026, um Guatemala City won 2024 (hahahahaha!!) and 2022 was... hang on was Santiago 2022?? Did we actually finalise 2026? I know England won the last World Cup thing. 2018 was fun - especially the Dubai/Christchurch "night of the 100 aliases" voting scandal that saw my and Krow's mighty Dubai bid chuck the ultimate fantasy hissy fit!!!
Aronious Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Does krow not realise there is another contest in the mix?? i need his "constructive" input dammit! Guatemala City won 2024? i sware it was lake placid...wasnt it ryan??? I sware GBOC was as suspect as GW Bush in Florida...the fact i was a raging member should be ignored...but anywho i'd love to see another GBOC/vote for the presidents bid organisation set up again. and Kiruna won 2022 thankyou very much...NEVER QUESTION ME ON THAT! case closed.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 I think you'll find Ulan Bator won 2018, 2022 and 2026 if only in my mind. 2024 was a summer bid cycle - thus Lake Placid wasnt an option. Wasnt it? And what happened to Mo's Argentina 2026 bid - and the Canadian one?? Hmmm... may be some last minute dramas.
Aronious Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 I think you'll find Ulan Bator won 2018, 2022 and 2026 back to the real world...Vancouver won 2018, Kamloops won 2022 and Kelowna tied with Dubai for 2026.
Faster Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 back to the real world...Vancouver won 2018, Kamloops won 2022 and Kelowna tied with Dubai for 2026. LOLOLOLOLOLOL I think the British Columbian excessive days of this forum are gone, now its time to embrace the rah, rah lets go Africa forum we have today.
krow Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 jesus christ, this thread was a name-search bonanza! i'm down to provide color commentary & support for whatever bid aaron does. his always win anyway. too bad prague never got off the ground!
