Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam. As of now, here is the medal tally,

1 Thailand 7 10 2 19

2 Singapore 5 4 3 12

3 Vietnam 3 2 6 11

4 Myanmar 2 0 1 3

5 Malaysia 1 1 3 5

If you ask me, Singapore is only up there because of shooting. We won a few in the CWG last year.

Interesting. Maybe these games (along with the Universiade past august) could boost Bangkok posibilities for the 2010 Olympic Youth Games.

A video which shows some details about the Opening-Closing ceremonies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN-G_RXAssU...feature=related. Looks like they are going to make a semi-circle screen on the north tribune, just like Doha 2006 :P

The previous Sea Games were hold at Philipines in 2005. The next ones are going to be held on Vientaine, Laos (2009). In case that Laos are not capable to host it, then the games will be hosted by Singapore.

Wel, they must have. The OC will be held in 4 days, if they were planning to give that kind of show like the one on the vid, the rehearsals had to begun probably one or two months ago. Anyway i've seen recent pics of the Main Stadium and i don't see they are building a Doha-type screen (altought i see some columns on the place)

News about the OC i could find on the website:

Haay, It's see Games time once more. I have to admit, watching the SEAG since 1991 here in Manila got me strated in all this Olympic "crap".

There's is no doubt that Thailand will be excellent hosts for this year and I'm delighted that laos in 2009 has decided to step up to the plate and add to the rotation. Thailand also ought to be commended for starting the trend of non-capital city hosting first in Chiang Mai in 1995 and then now in NR. I can still remember the furry Siamese cat that was the mascot in 1995. A friend of mine was a National Athlete then and I got a chance to actually hold her silver medla and her stuffed toy.

I can also recount the spectacular opening they had back then, specially the cauldron lighting which is really good. Wasn't it the dragons which spewed out pyro onto the cauldron? Really cutesy but has never been done before. It was even better that their cauldron lighting in the Asian Games in 1998.

Maybe the thing that I still have to get to know a little more is the logo. It look like sails and there's still no English translation to what it supposedly means. That goes for the mascot as well, I think I like their cat in 1995 than now.

Really looking forward to a spectacular opening on the 6th.

Without even seeing it, I know that Laos would have bigger shoes to fill in 2009.

I definitely like their mascot better than this year's. It's cartoony as what mascots are supposed to be in print.

I however feel opposite for their logo. Looks like a bad re-hashing of Brunei's in 1999. But Like the 2005 mask logo of Manila, it could get better in time.
