thatsnotmypuppy Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 I f*ckin' love this little guy and want pins, plushies and tshirts with him/her/it on it right now! VANCOUVER 2010 VANOC - DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! Fefe supports Muk Muk 2010 and will kick VANOC's arse if she don't get no Muk Muk pin!!
Sir Rols Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Let me get this right, Muk Muk's the little tag along rat thing isn't he?
Faster Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Let me get this right, Muk Muk's the little tag along rat thing isn't he? He prefers to be called a marmot, or that beaver looking thing
Sir Rols Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 He prefers to be called a marmot, or that beaver looking thing Marmot, beaver, rat ... it's all rodent vermin to me.
NY20?? Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 He is a cute little thing, though overrated, I think.
SkiFreak Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Here's what Mukmuk looks like in real life: A Vancouver Island Marmot I can't post photos of the other mascots, because they don't exist. I have to say, out of the four, Mukmuk is the best, but unfortunately, the powers that be have sidelined him as a sidekick. I don't like Miga because it looks too similar to: Plus, it's supposed to be an Orca/Bear. Looks more like a Penguin/Panda. And Sumi, why couldn't it just be a Thunderbird? Why'd it have to be a Thunderbird with bear legs? Quatchi is a fat guy with a burlap sack thrown over him.
baron-pierreIV Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Quatchi is a fat guy with a burlap sack thrown over him. All mascots are like that. What do you expect for a costume? Hopefully, you'll soon get used to the imperfect world of imperfect mascotry.
SkiFreak Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 From the National Post: http://www.nationalpost.com/todays_paper/s....html?id=127741 A little explanation why Mukmuk isn't front and center with his hybrid counterparts: Mukmuk is actually the only real animal. But the committee said it isn't really a mascot and will only make appearances on its Web site. The mascots are the creation of Vancouver graphic designers Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy, who own Meomi Design. Mukmuk's official unofficial website: http://www.marmots.org/
mr.x Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 there's a fan group on facebook, as well as a bunch of hateful groups.
AmaniS Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 I would buy MukMuk stuff. I can not believe that they couldn't pick one real animal as mascot.
tominger Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Muk Muk rules - hes the best of all of them!!
Olympian2004 Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 The only major fault about those mascots is that Muk Muk (of all mascots the cutest!) isn't officially included. That's plain stupid since they'd probably sell that funny little chap with his foam finger like hot cakes.
Rob2012 Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 there's a fan group on facebook, as well as a bunch of hateful groups. lol, gotta love facebook!
Tanaka_Ray Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 I vote for Mukmuk to be an official mascot too
mr.x Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 maybe they could have a special limited edition of mukmuk? they'd make a killing out of him.
taichi Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I haven't seen Muk Muk, yet. Can somebody introduce to me. Does he like Figure Skating or Speed Skating?
mr.x Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I haven't seen Muk Muk, yet. Can somebody introduce to me. Does he like Figure Skating or Speed Skating? look it up at the VANOC mascot mini-website. he's on the front page wearing at #1 fan glove.
Citius Altius Fortius Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 appears at 2:52I agree with tominger: MUK MUK rules!!!!
SkiFreak Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I haven't seen Muk Muk, yet. Can somebody introduce to me. Does he like Figure Skating or Speed Skating? Here's Mukmuk Out of the four, he's the best. I've read in the papers that he's only going to be used on the website. No where else. However, maybe with enough pressure, VANOC will reconsider and make him an official mascot. Then we'll see him on pins and other merchandise.
mr.x Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 lol what about the lobster that got angry at the beginning of the video when miga, in orca form, stole its shell?
Citius Altius Fortius Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I would love to get a MUKMUK key fob!!!
mr.x Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 ...and the locals here, the mountain peak that Sumi is standing on in the video is Black Tusk which is a few kms away from Whistler. The view of Black Tusk from Whistler:
Kenadian Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I would love to get a MUKMUK key fob!!! Yes, and a Muk Muk guitar pick. And Muk Muk gum drops. And Muk Muk ear plugs. And Muk Muk chocolate kisses. And a Muk Muk toque! Here a Muk, there a Muk, everywhere a Muk Muk! But I read a quote from VANOC's Brand Manager in Metro today that said if there was enough popular support for the idea, Muk Muk merchandise could see the light of day. We should start a petition or something.
