Sir Rols
well, here's the bigger question: how do the votes split right now according to continent? I mean NOT where u expect them to lean, jj, but just where the votes are from. Like Africa - 16, Asia - 19, etc., etc. Anybody know? Took a while to find (the CGF site was down), but here goes: Africa 18 Americas 6 Asia 8 Caribbean 15 Europe 10 Oceania
NOC
The difference is coming from Asia. This is where they have been working Oceania is nearly all Glasgow Europe is nearly all Glasgow Africa 17 of 18 is Abuja Carribbean is 10 to Abuja and about 5 to Glasgow Asia is the key to winninf, and yesterday both bid camps went into the regional Asian office to do a mini presentation

jim jones
I already explained to you that Glasgow City Council already successfully operate a number of shops through their museums and visitor attractions in addition to having extremely close and strong working links to the most bouyant and fastest growing retail sector in the UK outside of London - there will be NO problem with CWG merchandise. As for the BBC, I expect them to be chomping at the bit to broadcast a Glasgow Games and showing off their new, state of the art £129.25 million Scottish headquarters - THE most advanced facility of its kind in Europe! Ah Yeah that is before they sold them to private business according to Lost glasgow .org jim jones
jim jones
2006 ? A lot of things change in a year ... Nigeria & Scotland get a vote , don't they ? Can they vote for themselves ? Well think about it . we are talking Bookmakers in the UK but actually SCOTLAND. If you dont have confidence locally with some looking this over then that is telling even a year back. a year back the talk was of Abuja even showing up LOL. They are very much there right now . jim jones

Malta and Cyprus will go Abuja I have seen the NOC websites and it is all huge fundraising talks on those sites many times. 25,000 dollars will make the difference there for sure. they are probably to be punished by Glasgow for GDP per Capita. Greeks especially like money more then anything. St Helena will go to ABuja . 125 ,000 for 6 athletes and the shortest joureny they would ever have going to the games. jim jones
crusty_bint
Ah Yeah that is before they sold them to private business according to Lost glasgow .org jim jones Nothing has been sold. Glasgow museums have always been free to the public, unlike those in any other major city like Edinburgh or London and so, understandably, don't have a large income stream. Glasgow City Council decided to set up Culture and Sport Glasgow as a Charitable Management Company and transfer operational control of Glasgow Museums and Sports to the company. This is not unique, Glasgow is following the example of other cities because as a Charitable Company, Culture and Sport Glasgow can apply for funding that the City Council would not be eligible for in addition to the tax breaks that accompany Charitable Status. This is how the CSGlasgow Board is made up: Elected Members: Bailie Liz Cameron (Chair) (former Lord Provost of Glasgow) Councillor Steven Purcell, Leader of the Council Councillor Archie Graham, Executive Member for Culture and Sport Councillor Stephen Curran, City Treasurer Councillor James Dornan Councillor Aileen ColleranIndependent Directors: The Rt Hon The Lord Macfarlane of Bearsden KT Sir Angus Grossart The Rt Hon George Reid The Lord Stevenson of Coddenham Chief Executive of Culture and Sport Glasgow Bridget McConnell (formerly of Glasgow City Council and wife of Jack McConnell, former First Minister of Scotland)

Well Alex Salmond just opened his mouth and might as well have insert the votes for Canada, England and Australia with the following statement 'Prized and respected' Scotland can clinch 2014 Games, says Salmond STUART BATHGATE IN COLOMBO ALEX Salmond claims that no country other than Scotland would have stood a chance in a straight fight against Nigeria to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The First Minister, pictured below, believes the amount of positive feeling for Scotland ensured that Glasgow was still in the running against its only rival, Abuja. "There isn't a single country in the entire Commonwealth that could win this bid [against Abuja] apart from Scotland," said Salmond, who is here for the vote which will decide the destination of the Games today. Even your people on the ground have no allusions that they would do anything but BARELY win by a vote. NOC s latest estimate has been right on the money according to my source from the Caribbean . 10 for Abuja in the Caribbean , 17 from africa , glasgow will have most of europe but not all, the same goes for Oceania. The Asians are going to vote in a block for abuja according to my sources in the hotel and that is outside the Nigerian committee. Makes sense Africa voted in a Block for New Delhi and Kuala Lumpar. with a minimum 27 votes coming out of the Caribbean and Africa The Americas will have 3 to 4 go to Abuja . with Europe chucking in 2 , Oceania at 2 to 4 and then Asia will deliever 9 out of 10 atleast for Abuja that will make a clear majority in the forties for Abuja . The Carribean swept which it could very well be sending a statement to Scotland about Racist Comments from Soccer officials like John Mcbeth . Toronto 2008 wore that anchor very well . Blacks tend not to forget very easily statements about Fifa officials in Africa being greedy , I would check to see how many fingers I had after shaking hands , with the Caribbean I think it is the Same . Clearly Racism from the Same mindset and environment called Scotland Sports . jim jones

Danny Jordeen has said about Buses and how the world demand is having a hard time for WC 2010. A plan to have a sharing arrangement between . South Africa 2010, New Delhi 2010, Brazil 2014, Abuja 2014 maybe rio 2016 and then Capetown 2020 would save quite a bit of money. Roll on roll Off container ships could do it . it doesnt have to be the entire span of all those operations but especially between South Africa Brazil and Nigeria it is very possible jim jones
