Here in México from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, and from 22:00 to 00:00, of which one hour is of jokes. I want to go to Brazil or USA :(

It's a shame, try the Internet . At least here in Brazil, "Terra" website will also broadcast the games free for all users 24 hours per day and I know Terra is present in several countries in Latin America .

I was going to suggest Terra for you as well Daallo. There you can enjoy 3300 hours of Olympic coverage free online! Also available in Portuguese. I read in that lengthy article describing NBC Olympic streaming video process that Televisa was doing the same thing with its live coiverage only that it's smaller scale than our high-tech process. Everything will get streamed by bits so as not to lose the video and audio quality.

Moreover, you won't get NBC's coverage since that is restricted to American residents only. On demand after the Games may be another matter (emphasis on the may).

Thanks Ibirapuera on the Brazilian TV coverage and of the fact there are TWO ESPN Brasil networks. Band will also air them in HD.

Canal 10 will screen the Beijing Olympics in Uruguay.

Hey! 6 days to go, and I'm all set!

Uh-huh I watch the news of CCTV-1 (I would get Olympic information from there) and Countdown to Beijing on C/S Sports (also on Solar Sports.)

Also, to inform viewers that RPN-9 is gonna televise the Olympics for the first time since 1988, the Beijing 2008 logo appears in the lower left part of the screen during programming (the news is an exception).

That's it all the way to Friday, with special TV shirts and mascot toys to guide me. RPN-9 will televise live the OC, so better be ready!

TRIVIA: RPN-9 broadcasts 24/7 but pauses at 06:00 daily to play...

(video used by the state tv channels like RPN-9)

In the United States, National Geographic is airing two Olympics specials. One is on the Bird Nest & will air at 3pm. The other one is on the Cube and will air at 4pm EST. Also, the NBC Evening News begins reporting live from Beijing tonight. Today will start airing from Beijing on Monday.

I taped both of those specials this past Thursday night. Pretty interesting stuff.

Thanks Lamptern for your translation of CCTV's broadcast schedule. If you be so kind, could you please do likewise for ATV, TVB, and i-CABLE if possible? :)

As some of us have already know NBC's Today show team will make their way to Beijing and China starting next week to do their show. Lester Holt, who I like a lot, from the weekend portion was already at the beautiful Pagoda Tower in Beijing. NBC has already unleashed a torrent of promos relating to the Olympics in the past few weeks. I'll get to those and link them next week.

Sporza's coverage will be limited of sorts with soccer leading the way at the begining. But I haven't seen exactly where the coverage begins and ends. I'll check on that next week. For the French version at RTBF, La Deux will air swimming, tennis, soccer, track and field, gymnastics, and field hockey. Its broadcast, like VRT's Sporza, will start with Belgium's "Little Devils" taking on Brazil on August 7. It's also reairing the Venues doc on RTBF Sat and La Trois.

I'll get to more of my thoughts and more stuff as we get to the homestretch to the Opening ceremonies with a lot of goodies I'll bring then! :) Hopefully more things will emerge.

I saw the Beijing Stadium one, but I didn't see the Aquatic one, since it was on at midnight.

I've got a question. I was under the impression that the Olympics Opening Ceremony would air on NBC at 8/7c. However, I saw an ad tonight saying 7:30/6:30c. I check NBC.com, NBCOlympics.com, & TV Guide.com. All said 8/7c. Has NBC decided to change it at the last minute?

Yeah, I saw that too. I'm not sure what the deal is. And the local 30-minute special that precedes the primetime show was advertised as starting 7 PM. I'm not completely sure that they haven't changed their schedule in the past. Looking back at the Athens schedule, it says each weeknight broadcast was scheduled to start at 8 PM, but I could've sworn there were nights when they went on the air at 7:30. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Oh the Olympic Zone is back? I'll have to check my local NBC schedule. I wasn't sure. I only watched that leading up to the opening ceremony. Didn't it start like three days before the opening ceremony in 2006?

I'm not sure how to edit, so I"m sorry for the double post. It appears that it does start on 8.8.08. So I think perhaps they are just trying to get you to watch the Olympic Zone.

The Olympic Zone is most definitely back. A couple of online tv listings sites didn't have it for a while but it'll be there every night of the games except for Sunday (including the 2 Saturdays where coverage starts at 7:30pm instead of 8:00 to accommodate the start of the marathons). dtd2.. you're right, they started the first Olympic Zone programs on the Wednesday prior to the opening ceremony of Torino.

Here's the 1 thing I'm curious to see. According to NBC's schedules, coverage of the Opening Ceremony goes from 8pm until Midnight (can't mess with tradition.. that's the exact same time block they've had for every O/C going back to Seoul with the exception of Sydney which was 7:30pm-Midnight). The primetime replay of that night is scheduled from 2:39am (another NBC tradition) until 7pm. Makes me wonder how they're going to condense a 4-hour taped show into.. 4 hours and 21 minutes?

1 other program of note that maybe someone knows about... According to NBC's Olympic media guide, they're going to be doing the MSNBC Olympic Update show every weekday at 5pm after the afternoon coverage is over. Thus far, I've yet to find a TV listings site that mentions the 5pm show anywhere, most just list it as an episode of Hardball with Chris Matthews. Can anyone either confirm or deny that that show will be happening during the games as it traditionally has since Sydney?

Hm. I'm not sure, I plan on napping between 5pm-8pm basically every day once the Olympics begin.

Maryjane-I checked BBC One & BBC 2 listings & I didn't see anything until 8.8.08 with the opening ceremony.

I'm not sure if he was at that broadcasting tower. For one, he appeared to be outside somewhere, not inside. And also, the side of stadium behind him and the surroundings didn't match the tower's location. If NBC does have a studio up there though, I think it'll just be used for Costas hosting Primetime, Carillo hosting Late-Night, etc. Or maybe even 'Today at the Olympics' as well.
