Faster
On Canadian cosport only field hockey, handball, weightlifting, baseball (very limited), canoe/kayak, softball and archery are left. I have an order of 11 tickets, I am just debating weather to press send, since its very much touch and go weather I will be in Beijing next summer. I got no rowing, which is a disappointment. lplove
yes, very frustrated as well! It took me 5 tries (and 4.5 hours) to finally get my order in. And what I ended up getting (archery, handball, weightlifting, softball) was different than what I initially had the first time (that plus football, beach volleyball, water polo, canoe/kayak). I'm going for sure anyway, because I was allocated tickets in the first round (gymnastics, swimming, diving, athletics). I guess I'll wait for beijing to see how much I'm willing to pay from scalpers!!

I wish I had known that though! I am more seeing archery for the experience than expecting to cheer for any canadians! did you end up placing your order? thatsnotmypuppy
I am stumped by the lack of athletics tickets - even morning session are full. I would hazard a guess that there are still seats available. I know that the Australian Olympic Committee is still trying to get more tickets out of BOCOG. thatsnotmypuppy
Hmm, just about every single session now has 'Temporarily Not Available' next to it now... So I wonder if there is a further allotment coming or if this is Cosport's way of saying "tough luck"?? This morning if there were no tickets at a session there was nothing - no notification of temporary sell outs. If Cosport are smart they'll redistribute some allocations to the areas that are buying up big. It baffles me that so few tickets went into the Aussie market considering the relative close proximity of Beijing and the huge tourism market we represent to China and the Olympics... Looking back through the Olympic reports, Australia has been in the top 5 or 10 international attendees at most Olympics...
Scientifik
I think everyone can agree cosport has done a pretty terrible job of handling the ticket sales. Between the information blackout, a terrible website and no phone support, I think the trifecta of bad service is complete. Can't say I'm looking forward to going through this again in 2010 and 2012. On a happier note, after many hours of hoping pages will load and seats will be available I did manage to get a handful of events, I'm guessing trading and selling will be pretty common in Beijing, hopefully I can parlay my way into a few things I'm really interested in seeing. Faster
Its just as much Beijing's fault for not releasing as many tickets as is internationally required and the IOC for not enforcing this.
thatsnotmypuppy
Exactly - considering they are desperate for foreigners to come to the Games to show off how many advances China has made it is really poor form to offer so few tickets. One of my IOC contacts has stated to me it seems the Chinese are happy to have only Chinese in the stands and they have NOT delivered on the host city contract requirements in regards to ticketing. However BOCOG know that all the NOCs and IOC can do is bitch and moan. The IOC cannot force BOCOG to redistribute tickets. Beijing have ballsed the ticketing up so much. What they should have done was run ticketing weeks - each week a new event is on sale. A gradual roll out - tickets available via phone, internet and in person. Guaranteed international allocations should be negotiated and delivered prior to domestic on sale dates. First come first serve in China. I hope Vancouver is watching this closely - and London. I feel Sochi wont be a huge international draw just due to the issues with actually getting a Russian visa. It will turn alot of people off. I have no idea internationally for Vancouver, but domestically its being run through vancouver starting in October and there seems to be a set number of tickets for Canadians. The Olympic family will get their first choice, than what is left of their allocation that is not picked will go to the Canadian allocation, the Canadians will have their choice and what is left of the allocation will be combined with what is internationally required to be allocated. So Canadians between October and February, international between March and Julyish. Are you planning on coming to Vancouver puppy? I think for Sochi you will see a lot of Finns, Norwegians and Germans
thatsnotmypuppy
If I can get some tickets to the speed skating (short and long) I'll be there. One thing has puzzled me a bit - there does not seem to be any season passes at Beijing for any sports. At Sydney, Atlanta and Barcelona I was able to buy a season ticket for all sessions of athletics and also for diving - however that appears to not be an option for 2008. I have even had a mate who reads Mandarin look over the official Chinese ticketing guide and there is no mention of it. Oh well. Also there is something fishy about all the satellite city Football tickets being unavailable... Faster - are the tickets you have been able to get enough to convince you to come to China?? Its not worth it to spend 200 dollars on tickets with only 2 finals while spending 3000 to 3500 dollars to go to China and spend a week, so what was available was not worth it. btw, CP, there is tonnes of stuff now. alberto
hi desmond!!! i am alberto, we met in singapur two years ago during the olympic meeting, where was decided the host for the olympic games for 2012. I have got already the tickets, a lot for the olympic stadium, but no one for swimming or gimnastic, is is going to be difficult to get that tickets. Anyway, right there i will try to have a chance to get some. I will be there for the second week, the most interesting because of the finals. un saludo
thatsnotmypuppy
OK - for any Aussie lurkers... I've gone through all sports at Cosport. There seems to be 1 ticket available at 2 seperate baseball sessions, 1 ticket for the womens quarterfinal football match in Tianjin, nearly every session of handball, a handful of softball sessions and a few weightlifting sessions left. Very few tickets. How are things looking elsewhere? I'm going to keep checking for additional releases but will buy no more at this point. thatsnotmypuppy
The supply seems to fluctuate a lot - I was just able to bring up an athletics final (only 1 ticket) - so I will keep checking. Multiple orders means multiple 'fulfillment charges' - a bit of a rort. If I suddenly find two $7 boxing tickets I dont want to have pay yet another $19 fee. There was only one ticket interesting for me : Rowing preliminaries at 5$ When I was ready to take it, I saw that I had a 18$ fee to pay. I didn't take it. thatsnotmypuppy
I have been going back in and out of CoSport and I can vouch for that - there does seem to be the odd session here and there suddenly having availability (sadly it is always just the 1 ticket). I am not sure why this is happening - and seems to have almost stopped now (in Australia at least). I find it baffling you were able to get swimming tickets. They are the holy grail here in Oz!!
