Filipe_Golias
Well, big upset today! The mighty Basketball nation of Israel defeated Serbia 87-83. The defeat means that Serbia's national men's basketball team will miss the Beijing Olympic tournament. Not only that. A Croatian triple in the dying seconds defeated Spain (first in 28 games) by one point - 85:84 - and sent major underdogs Portugal into the second phase, also thanks to a victory against Latvia (first ever in Eurobasket) by 77:67. We needed six more points to qualify directly, but Croatia performed a miracle by narrowly defeating the World champions and giving us third place in the group
Fox334
This year's Eurobasket really shows the parity in European basketball. I wish I could watch the games... In any case, Athens' silver medalist, Italy, is in major trouble. They will have to win against Germany and Turkey to keep there Olympic chances alive...
