Bid Library - Now Open!

Recommended Posts

As you could possibly tell by my sporadic visits I've been pretty busy unfortunately and just havent had the time to get it all back up and running. It is on my to do list - however if you need anything urgently let me know and I can upload it to 4shared or mediafire.

Toronto 2008 bidbooks please!

Here's a link to Toronto 2008's bid book page. I'm not sure if all the links are active.

By the way, do you have Atlanta's 1996 bid book?

^^ Nope the site works, but naturally the bid books do not. Interestingly since it was 2001, the bid books are down-loadable by theme/chapter, obviously due to the slow internet connections of the time.

So when does the site come back?

Certainly a far cry from the 1996 Toronto bid book

toronto-olympic-bid-96.jpg

Interesting use of what appears to be quick guide "tags" or cheat tags on an attached keychain of sorts. Saves a person from having to open up the whole briefcase just to get one of the volumes out, as I would assume that these would have the vital core information with regards to the Toronto 2008 bid. Could have done without the Spanish IMO.

So, no reuploading of these?

Actually guys, if you check the "Resources" page of the Wikipedia page of the individual Games/Bids they often have links to the bid documents than can then be downloaded.

Thanks so much for the Sochi and London links! I remember the section on Venues being so much more detailed then what's on the link... With artist depictions, etc. Does anyone remember what I'm talking about?? I remember reading through the Bid Book vividly and seeing those images and the details, maps, etc. If anyone had a link to that I'd be HUGELY appreciative...

I got the digital copy direct from my actual bid books and CD. If you nag me enough, I might upload them somewhere.
