Faster 545
Now Federer can try for the all-time record for consecutive titles for 6 with William Renshaw. Hopefully Federer can finally win Roland Garros soon too.
arwebb 133
That's all that separates him from being the greatest player of all time now.
Mainad 203
An absolute humdinger of a final! I really thought Nadal was going to pull it off after romping through that 4th set.Up to that point in the match,he had broken Federer's serve 4 times whilst Federer had only broken him once early in the 1st set! But in the 5th set,Federer's serve came to his rescue (as so often in the past) and Nadal began to visibly tire in the last few points. Both players played some unbelievable shots especially Nadal and there was so little separating them that you could hardly call either of them a loser no matter who crossed the finishing line first! Fantastic match that showed Wimbledon at its finest.Congrats to Roger for now equalling Borg's 27 year record of 5 straight titles and standing ovation for Nadal for coming so close and playing so well. But next year, the pressure will be back on Roger to try and create a record of his own and take 6 straight titles!! arwebb 133
A British player has won a Wimbledon title. Murray and Jankovic have just won the mixed doubles. Sounded a fantastic Centre Court atmosphere on the radio at least.
Rob. 2040
Never quite understood the point of tennis on the radio. Maybe that's just me.
arwebb 133
I was driving at the time, and roaring my approval at every point. Other motorists must have thought I was deranged.
