thatsnotmypuppy Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 OK, this competition is a little more indepth than a standard Olympic competition – so the rules have changed a bit. To submit a city for a World Expo, we need to at least be slightly inline with what a real Expo candidate will offer. Basically you need to nominate a city that has a large enough parcel of land to host a large scale event – think a park double the size of Sydney’s Olympic park – or 4 times Athens… You need to show what transportation links are available as well. So to enter a city, please nominate the city and provide a very basic map of where in the city’s vicinity you propose to build the Expo park. Also supply a brief outline on how your bid will encompass the following theme – ‘2020 – Leisure without boundaries’ The basic theme will be the same for all the bid cities – so you have a central point to consider when planning Expo additions such as amusement parks, themed areas and lakes, parks etc. The second phase will involve a detailed plan of your Expo park which will need to show where each countries pavilion will be located, transport links, entertainment areas etc. An overall plan and then smaller more detailed plans would be easiest for all involved. Lets cap the involvement to 120 countries – with combined pavilions allowed (so all Middle Eastern states can share a pavilion, etc) – and 30 corporations. Along with the pictures/plans you will need to provide information such as ticket pricing, running dates for the Expo, themed days and weeks, etc. So yeah – it’s a bit more work, but it’s a very large event. baron-pierreIV Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Am deciding on Kandahar 2020 or Baquba 2020. I think Baquba 2020 has a nicer ring to it! I already have a theme: ALI BABA SLEPT IN BAQUBA!!
expofou Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 A proposal for Expo 2020 Lille World's fair "Arts, cultures et traditions". Lille is in North of France. There are two web site about this expo : The first one is here : http://pageperso.aol.fr/exponaute/expolille2020.html and the other is here : http://www.imaginelille2017.com/ This is for the same town but it seems that it's impossible to have an expo in france before 2019.
