Sliding Sports On Their Way Out Of Wogs?

After a recent visit in Lausanne, Norwegian IOC member gave a few interesting remarks to the Norwegian press (http://www.aftenposten.no/)

1. IOC reduces they daylight requirement from 9 to 5 hours, implying that for instance both cross country skiing and ski jumping could take place with artificial lighting. The only WOG candidate worldwide this is interesting for is probably Tromsø, at more than 69 degrees N.

2. IOC is more and more interested in moderation. Thus, if either for instance Tromsø or Trondheim are getting the games, IOC WILL REQUIRE that they don't build their own bob-track, but rather use the facilities of Lillehammer, 1500 and 330 km away, respectively, from Tromsø and Trondheim. Well, what is this? It could be that IOC has become "moderate", but could it be that this is the first step in kicking the sliding events out of the WOGs? It is after all, not a very big sport around the world, but very elitistic and expensive for the WOG hosts, and most of the bob tracks built in connection with the WOGs are not in much use afterwards. Or could it be connected with Salzburg's bid?

It could also be a major pain for Norway when trying to get votes from Canada, the US, Germany, Austria, Italy, etc.
