nykfan845
Predictions: Men's Winner: (Federer) But I am aware that Federer has been complaining of exhaustion issues and he isnt physically 100 percent. It may not be as easy as it seems right now. Women's Winner: (Mauresmo) But this is very wide open. The women's side always wins. However, Mauresmo is my frontrunner because Henin-Hardenne has pulled out, and Maria isn't consistent enough. However, there are players such as Nadia Petrova that could break through this time around.
Rafa
Federer Clijsters and Jankovic are in form and either should win...ideally id like hingis to win..but she would have to beat clijsters
arwebb
I think Ivan Ljubicic is a massive price at 33/1 with the bookmakers.
nykfan845
I think Ivan Ljubicic is a massive price at 33/1 with the bookmakers. Ouch. He got knocked out the first round by American Mardy Fish.
Westfale
Tennis isnt our sport anymore. 14 Germans in Melbourne and only 2 advanced to the second round so far. 5 are already out. Becker had his chances against Safin, but he wasted them. I miss the times of Boris Becker and Steffi Graf.
arwebb
Ouch. He got knocked out the first round by American Mardy Fish. That's why my tips should come with a health warning. Or is that wealth warning?
Mainad
Is it just me or is anyone else getting the impression that the first Grand Slam of the season seems to be shaping up as one of the more bad-tempered affairs? It must be the hot, humid conditions in Melbourne that's making everyone so testy.I watched the Federer/Youzhny match and even the normally unflappeable Roger seemed tetchy and out of sorts at times! Focused Roddick beats angry Safin
nykfan845
Safin's tirades are his trademark. It gets quite ridiculous sometimes. But I'm sure that heat could annoy anybody down under . . .
arwebb
Murray v Nadal in the last 16 should be a cracker.
nykfan845
That should be a good one. If Murray can keep his cool, he could beat Nadal. But looming in the quarterfinals is the blazing James Blake, so this will get really interesting.
nykfan845
That is, if James beats Fernando Gonzalez of Chile, of course.
arwebb
He has been doing thus far, but by the same token he hasn't really been properly tested yet.

nykfan845
haha, blazing That was his first loss of the year, you dolt. He lost his first set in the entire tournament in that match, and he had three first set points. Why do you ALWAYS have a condescending tone when you post. arwebb
You did rather make it sound as though it was a formality that Blake would beat Gonzalez.

KRATK
And González beated Nadal 6-2, 6-4, 6-3 I watched the second set... incredible match! Vamos Feña a la final!!!!
nykfan845
Nadal really needs to learn how to use the net. Gonzo had a great match, and he should beat Tommy Haas to get to the final.
KRATK
Wow! Federer crushed Roddick... If Feña González beats Haas, he will be the third Chilean in a GrandSlam final after '58 & '60 RolandGarros runner-up Luis Ayala and '97 Australia runner-up Marcelo Ríos. Faster
Federer in straight sets in the final anyone? Maybe 4 sets. Federer is unbelievable in his dominance of this sport, ESPN just wishes we was American instead of Swiss.
Mainad
If he plays like he did against Roddick, then he should take it in straight sets. ESPN can bugger off,I want him for Britain,we need him so much more!!!! Is there anything we can do to make him take British nationality??? BTW,sticking my neck out but I tip Sharapova to beat Williams in three sets but I reckon that's going to be a close one!!
arwebb
50-50 match that one. I just reckon Serena might edge it.
KRATK
I know that the match will be a hard task for González. But I was hoping that he will make the surprise... besides the game of today was just amazing. Haas couldn't do anything...
