GBModerator
Hello GBModerator,is it possible to reach "old thread" again? I think especially on our GB-contest about ESC and the chat-thread during the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest of last year. Sorry, we do not archive old "off-topic" threads, so we can't recover them.

Also, how many levels are there? Thanks and sorry to bother you BethnalGreen I can't remember exactly off-hand, I'll check soon.

Sir Rols
Hi GBModerator, Just a suggestion. When it comes time to do a board reorganisation after the July 2012 vote, how about splitting up the "General Off Topics and Events" subforums into separate forums and giving direct links to each of those individual forums on the main page. General Off-Topics is one of the most popular forums, and that would save everyone having to drill down through the sub-forum level first to get to it, and when a competition's on, the Contest forum gets pretty regularly used as well. It would also allow everyone to tell at a glance if any new postings had been made to either forum when the others are the ones highlighted on the main screen. Hope you know what I'm getting at. Cheers
NewYork2012
Hi GBModerator, I would just like to comment on an article posted on your main page today title "New York 2012 Looks To Supporters For Help With Stadium Approval". There was one part of the article that says this... "There are two more critical votes left in the approval process; the State Empire State Development Corporation (occuring May 18) and a final vote by the Public Authorities Control Board." This is actually wrong. There's only one step left, the approval from the Public Authorities Control Board, which is going to meet on May 18. The Empire State Development Authority had already approved the NYSCC on April 12... NY1 News Thanks NewYork2012

Diana
Hi GB Moderator....with the season's finale (so to speak) in less than 2 days, I have a suggestion. The posting of pictures and endless bid logos etc interrupts the sometimes interesting discussion. My purpose in coming to the forums is to hear what people have to say, to get additional perspectives on the Olympics and all the stuff that surrounds them; I don't come here to look at downtown scenes in large cities or many logos, etc. Would you please consider not allowing any pics or logos along with people's words? I can appreciate that this will not meet with support from the members who don't mind scrolling down through the junk in the forums, but having to scroll down page after page is annoying. I look forward to your considered answer! Thanks!!
GBModerator
Interesting idea but I'm not sure it will be technically possible in a short time. I'll give it a thought.

Diana... u=you can easily fix this by going to your contol panel, and turning the signiture option off which would elimniate all the pictures and writing from the bottom of peoples posts. Personally, i dont mind one mid sized or small pic at the bottom of peoples posts.. But multiple pictures of large sizes (some as large as the screen) just pi$$ me off. baron-pierreIV
Can you start a New York 2016, or even a 2016 Section? The 2012 is already old news and getting boring. THank you.

New York 2016 will get a forum once they have submitted an application to host those Games. The other forums are still quite busy and will only be removed when required. Guardian
For me, I can't wait to see how many official bids for the 2014 Winter Olympics will be.
Aronious
The quicker you get rid of the Madrid, Paris, Moscow and New York bid sections the better Add London 2012 to the Beijing, Vancouver list. And delete the rest of 2012... maybe a possible 2012 section, for all the bids just to make things tidier now there not really needed. bidpinman
Here's my question...will the 2012 bid posts somehow be archived? One thing I didn't like after the Athens games was that that forum dissapeared. I don't like it when any forum is deleted - I feel that a lot of "forum history" is lost. Will London be moved to the same grouping as the other host cities, and the other candidates combined into "2012 Bidding Cities?"

Athens posts were kept online for at least six months after the Games. They are still archived - just not online. The 2012 forums will be removed soon after the 2014 Winter bid forums are created. They will also be archived but not online. The forum posts take up huge amount of server space and we just don't have the capacity to maintain them there. Although there was some interest in old Athens posts, after a few weeks hardly anyone ever looked at them. London 2012 will be moved into the Olympic Games category and continue to be maintained. The other 2012 forums will likely be removed.

Westfale
Is it possible to create a special folder only for Commonwealth Games? By folder do you mean topic in the forums? In the section "Other International Games" are many topics about the Commonwealth Games. I am asking for a new section with the title "Commonwealth Games". Do you understand, what i mean?
