savas
crap, crab und nice... I go with tamta which is ok, a decent song.. except the end,.. the rest, please,.. no fake rock songs, "no madonna" whata stupid title... or "the son of paparizou and sakis rouvas tries to imitate ricky martin" songs, horrible!.. pisappointed by the songs...buuuhhhhh
Ahmet
Tamta's song is by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar the best choice. The style of Sarbel's song has been done to death. Though you never know, Europe might still like this sort of genre. Christos Dantis's song is by far the worst out of three; however, knowing Finland's ability to take victory last year then I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up winning just for that reason. Lexus
Hi Guys, Geia sas, Long time no chat. I promised myself I'd stay clear of Eurovision this year, but I couldn't help myself. This year Greece has three of the worst songs I have every heard. Cheesy, Cheesy and Cheesy. What happened to singing in Greek? I know you can't win, but honestly, who cares. We've already won, now for some real music. Sarbel's song has some nice eastern tunes but it's just so corny. Who the hell is Maria? Tamta can save the world another day, it's about music (vomit vomit) and as for Kurie Dandis, oh my god, wost song EVER. Greek music has been bastardised by global trash, these three songs should be banned in Greece and ERT should be taken over by a shipping tycoon with lot's of money, screw you all attitude and taste in music to boot. Ma ti skata einai afta - Dropi... Hey Lexus, It's nice to see that you've stopped by. Please just abandon your promise and take part in our annual Eurovision discussions. Afterall, it's now become a regular distinctive feature of this forum so we all have to do our part to keep this up. Anyways, I think that you're being way too harsh on some of the possible entries Greece has to consider for this year. For instance, what is wrong with Tamta's song? It really isn't as bad as you make it out to be since it's a wonderful ballad; plus parts of it is also sung in Greek. I think that it's potenials are high and I really wouldn't overlook it that easily. Please make an effort to stop by more often here. As many others here, I too looked forward to reading what you had to say about each of the participating entries. It would be weird if Greece chooses Sarbel, because Turkey already decide to participate with the song 'Shake it sekerim' ! Yeah - I'm not really expecting much from our entry. I can't stand Kenan and his music so it looks like we have another cheap song coming in our way. BTW - The Turkish song will be released out in March 9th. LinkParkFn
The rest of you will not like this, but I've come up with my own version of Eurovision, though it's made up entirely or rock and metal <headbangs>. If the thing existed, it would be called the Bang Your Head Festival: The Anti-Eurovision. No wussy crap, all real music for once. And plenty of mosh pits. Here's what I've come up with: Germany- Oomph! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7xBpCH5vu4 Sweden Amon Amarth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFq2YJKYa-k I'm including Italia (even though have no part in regular Eurovision), my pick for them-Lacuna Coil http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBvhplJS3KY France- Dylath Leen http://www.myspace.com/dylathleen Norway-Tristania http://www.myspace.com/tristania Netherlands-After Forever http://www.myspace.com/afterforeveronline Greece- WC http://www.myspace.com/wctheband Finland-Lordi or Finntroll Poland-Delight (crappy name but awesome band) Austria-L'ame Immortelle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEu9Y7V5SRQ Denmark-Hatesphere http://www.hatesphere.com/index.php Russia-Coupdemain http://www.coupdemain.ru/ Portugal-Black Sunrise http://www.blacksunriseband.com/ Switzerland-Amphitrium http://www.amphitrium.com/ Slovakia- Abhorrence http://www.myspace.com/abhorrence Hungary- Fallen Into Ashes http://www.myspace.com/fallenintoashes Czech Republic-Absurd Conflict http://www.absurdconflict.com/ UK- Judas Priest Now if someone could find good bands out of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Romania, Republic of Moldova, Armenia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Andorra, Ireland, Malta, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Macedonia, I'd appreciate it. Oh and PYRROS2004, it might interest you not every Greek is into Anna Vissi and Elena Paparizou: http://www.gothic.gr/ http://www.metallas.gr/CMS/phpbase/
PYRROS2004
Who are they? The heavy metal area is a very closed community I think. I don't really know them, but I don't know if there are heavy metal groups in Greece. First, because I don't like this kind of music, second, the show biz doesn't promote them at all. Tamta is my favourite too. I would much prefer countries like Greece to sing in their own language. It is one of the nice things about Eurovision for me to listen to songs in other languages and in different musical styles to what I am used to. Anyway, Tamta's song is very nice indeed. I think it could do very well if chosen. Can anyone tell me whether it has actually been chosen from the 3 to represent Greece?

Thanks TG, I still think the songs stink - especially Xristos Dandis - and I'm concerned that because he wrote the winner for Elena Paparizou, public might vote for him. I promise if he wins, I won't watch. Look, Tamta's song is not that bad ok, there are some really nice musical elements there, but she really should sing in Greek, she actually sings very beautifully in Greek (I was surprised) and it's a shame that lyrics that are passionate and beautiful in one language are translated and can't help but sound cheesy and unsincere in another. What's Turkey doing this year?

What's Turkey doing this year? Well I agree that Xristos Dandis's song is horrible; however, I trust that the Greek audience will choose the right song to represent them in Helsinki. Afterall; they did select "Everything" last year out of the other considerably weaker entries. As for Tamta, well part of the song is actually in Greek; so that's quite an improvement seeing that no one has bothered to seeing some Greek for Greece since Antique (SAGAPO doesn't count). Turkey has chosen another semi-famous artist to represent us this year. It's Kenan Doğulu. His song will be revealed in March 9th. I'm really not all that optomistic about him and the song as well. This is seeing that I really despise his music; however, we'll see what we have in a store in a few weeks. Oh, the song title's been revealed. It's called, "Shake it up, Şekerim". So, based on that alone, you can pretty much be certain that we have something cheap to offer this time around. Oh! BTW; part of Evridiki's song has been leaked through a video showing her rehearsing it. Have a look here: Evridiki - Comme Ci, Comme Ca (Short Rehearsal Clip) I don't know about the rest of you guys; however, I kinda like it!!

PYRROS2004
From the small video preview I heard French and Greek. But they are still talking with CyBC in which languages they will sing it. It looks like there are versions in English French and Greek.

Lee
News from the BBC regarding the UK choice for Eurovision is that Morrissey and Daz Sampson will both NOT be competing this year. It also seems unlikely that rumours of an entry by Billie Piper are ill-founded. I must admit to being quite happy to hear this news. Can't wait for the final to see who will actually be taking part. News Conference expected today by the BBC giving the runners and riders for this years contest.
