Is anyone going to the Pacific Pin Club 2010 Post-Games Celebration and Pin Show

this weekend?

http://www.pacificpinclub.org/091201.html

I'm curious to know how this event went.

I scored a couple more pins. The Canadian Flag Cold FX pin and an extra Stanley Park B pin. The Cold FX pins are getting scarce too. Lots of the Cold FX Snowboarder pins in Walmart on the extra strength packaging. Didn't see any figure skater pins from that set - two weeks ago there were still lots.

If anyone has an extra Stanley Park A pin (VAN-1071), I'll trade them for the Stanley Park B pin (VAN-1072). I'm also on the lookout for the Train pin (VAN-1165).

A thought came to mind, can you order pins directly from Artiss Aminco (individually, not in large quantities), and is Artiss Aminco having any discounts on pins now?

Hi there. The event went great on the saturday. it was less busy on the sunday, but still pretty busy.

Did you happen to finish your cold fx set? I have a few spares, so just wondering if u wanted to trade.

for Artiss aminco, Min order is 60 pins in which its min order of 6 of a particular pin. These pins are still 4$ plus tax each. I doubt they will have discounts because the pins usually end up being sold at the next games like how the being pins where sold at hbc for a while.

I just got another Cold FX pin, the figure skater one. The one's I'm still looking for are Snowboarder, Hockey Player, the Backpack, and the Goalie Slider pin. Which one's do you have extras of?

I thought I had a complete set of the sports equipment series of retail pins, but, today I found out I was missing one pin: the Skis & Poles pin (VAN-1038). Luckily they had a few at Toys R Us and I was able to complete the set. B)

Just curious, was anyone lucky enough to track down a Cultural Olympiad pin? I know they were out there somewhere. A few people approached me in Vancouver and asked but I had no idea where you could get them.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to pin collecting/trading. Thank you all for posting about the Pacific pin trading show. I went and had a lot of fun meeting people and got a few really nice trades too :)

Just wondering if you guys heard about this upcoming pin swap...

Do you know if it's going to be as well attended as the one last weekend? I still have some pins to attain to complete my sets.

Loved this forum!!! :)

I just signed up on the PinTrading.ca website. How does it work? Do I have to wait for a confirmation e-mail or something before I can start posting my trader pins?

In amongst the last of the 2010 stuff at the local Bay, I found the last three pins: Wheelchair Curling (VAN-1151). Would be interested in trading 2 of the 3 for the Sledge Hockey pin and the Alpine Skiing equivalent.

Has anyone noticed yet there are two different Quatchi pins? I was in Quebec City this weekend and in the gift shop at the Chateau Fontenac they had the typical Quatchi retail pin (VAN 1226), except the name "Quatchi" at the bottom was brown instead of the typical light green. Wonder if this is a mistake or something...

Interesting. Could be a mistake. With regards to colors, one thing I was wondering about on the mascot sport series is the color of Miga's helmet. On some pins it was orange and some pins were brown. However I don't think this was a flaw.

A question about the Royal Canadian Mint Pavilion pins... how many were there? I thought there was one featuring each quarter but then I heard there was only three. I got the X-Country skier quarter pin:

Many of the different shades of color are just the result of the manufacturing process. For example, you will find Quatchi in many shades of brown.

There are 3 different Royal Mint pins that were handed out during the Olympics at the display. There is also an internal Royal Mint pin that was never handed out or for sale.

The one pin in which there are 2 legitimate different colors is the Umbrella #1157. It was originally released in a light blue - almost a light grey. Artiss Aminco, the manufacturer, did not like it so changed it to a dark blue which is the more common version.

Hey djssj, I'm still interested. I just got a hold of the Backpack pin today at London Drugs (currently, 46 capulet Cold FX are on sale for $19.99). I'm still looking for the Hockey Player, the Snowboarder, and the Slider Goalie. I posted a bunch of my traders at the PinTrading.ca site: http://www.pintrading.ca/index.php?page=usertrades&tid=149

I still have a few pins to post, hopefully I'll get around to it this evening.

Any idea wat it looks like/how much it costs?

The following information comes from a friend who has one ...

Description ... The pin is a white goalie mask with Canadian maple leaf, and there are 2 blue ribbons with gold medals draped over top of the helmet. To the left is the 2010 logo.

The cost ... $9.99 at Hudson House, $10.99 at Gastown Photo.

Sorry, I waited too long to get that beautiful Samsung 2-0-1-0 set ... that is a definite keeper. I also have the complete GE sports set ... but will not part with it either!

My advice ... be patient!!! I recently added some pins to my collection that I have been trying to get for 4-5 years!

I asked at London Drugs what happened to their pin rack as I noticed it was gone just after the games were over in early March. They said they sent all their pins down to Vancouver during the games. Rats, I was hoping to see some discounted pins now. Oh, well.

Contacted Sleep Country and asked for pins, but they said they ran out. However, in the e-mail they said that if they get anymore they'll send me one.

The Petro Canada by my place ran out of the Gold Series pins.

I contacted a bunch of sponsors and am continiung to contact others, so I'm still hoping I can get some pins from some. The pins are getting scarce. :( Time to start contacting London and Sochi sponsors...
