If anyone is interested in:

LA84_AlbumCover2.jpg

I found it posted on this blog:

The bit rates are all different in the zip file. Looks like someone compiled it from other albums; the tracks they couldn't rip from the vinyl LP. Whoever put the file together also added the track "Olympia" to it, but the sound isn't that great. It would be nice to have the album ripped in 320.

The album also had this alternative cover which, I believe, was released in the Netherlands:

I stumbled upon this one:

Olympia Parade - Kurt Edelhagen (Munich '72)

On this blog:

Here's the file link:

Format is MP3 320 kbps

Anyone happen to have the second album, Olympia Parade 2?

The cover art looks like this:

Does anyone happen to know if there was an official release of Jimmy Jam's & Terry Lewis' "Welcome To The World" from the Atlanta '96 opening ceremonies?

This is probably the most sought after Olympic track on my wishlist. I've looked everywhere to no avail. I only have a tinny version ripped from my old VHS of the opening with the stupid commentary "look it's pick up trucks - or as us Aussie's know them - utes!" over the top of it. That and the explanation of 'clogging'.

Thanks SkiFreak.

Does anyone also have the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony soundtrack? It might be the Commonwealth Games, but the Opening Ceremony they produced was most certainly Olympic calibre...and the soundtrack was quite good.

I've got the track, but it sounds like it was taken off a live recording - at least it doesn't have any commentary in it.

Thanks SkiFreak.

mr.x,

Check the first post in the thread at that link I sent you. It's on that board, but just in 128 kbps.

Hello, I am Snowmeow from Brazil, and I'd like to know if somebody knows the name of the music played at Atlanta 1996's Closing Ceremony (Sydney 2000's Introduction). It's a like of half-rock, half-aboriginal song.

Here's a video (Youtube) of the Ceremony when the music is played:

Been searching for quite a long time now thru the net and checked out your thread. Maybe u can help me out. I am looking for the closing ceremony music from Albertville Winter Olympics, 1992. The main song I am looking for is a Norwegian song, something the announcers said was a Norwegian Nocturne. I have it on video tape but its not very good quality. I googled myself to death on this with no luck...Thanks!!

The music used in the Lillehammer handover? I have seen it go by a few names, prosesjon, but most commonly- mold canticle, it's by sissel

Is this on any of Sissel's albums? I know Fire in Your Heart, which was used in the '94 OC, is on her album Gift of Love.

As for the Albertville music - extremely hard to find. I only have two tracks from Albertville - one is an ambient track called Patineurs from some official album - I'm assuming this track was used in the ceremonies. I haven't been able to find anything else from this album. The other track I got is La fleur de l'impossible by Yves Duteil.

Just curious, what Vancouver 2010 music was put up on iTunes, that's not available on the official albums? I thought I read somewhere on the board that medal ceremony music is available, and something else.

I found these on another board:

A few pieces from my collection

*Call to All Nations

Mickey Hart

Atlanta 96 Opening Ceremony

* Prosesjon

Lillehammer 94 Handover in Albertville

http://www.sendspace.com/file/w8t6se

* A Day in the Life of Sydney

Sydney handover in Atlanta

http://www.sendspace.com/file/22wnzj

I tried downloading them but I couldn't get them to play. They're wma files and they automatically bring-up the microsoft licensing site. Any chance anyone can convert them to mp3? I tried converting them but it didn't work. If anyone has any luck with them, let us know. I'm very interested in the Sydney handover track.

Anyone happen to know what's on this album? I haven't been able to find a track list for it.

Nagano98-WorldAnthems.jpg

Those must be the renditions of the national anthems used at the Nagano Games. Those renditions are still used at many international sports events, especially at athletic events. Funnily enough, you can find at least the renditions of the European national anthems on the website of the European Athletics Association -- click on the countries on the map and then there's a download link for the corresponding anthem in a box on the right:

http://www.european-athletics.org/european-athletics-member-federations-new.html

The Marseillaise, for example, sounds a little bit like it's taken from the opera Carmen.
