thatsnotmypuppy
The official requirements thread. Post one - 'In your bid you must outline the following (in a bid document no more than 15pages)' Therefore all bids that did not submit a document are invalid for inclusion - as such, Scandinavia and England are both voided form the finalists rounds - leaving the bids from the USA, Russia and Portugal to continue. A recount of votes shows that Russia had the vast majority of votes out of the three - THUS BY THE RULES AGREED BY ALL PARTIES ENGLAND IS DISQUALIFIED AND RUSSIA WINS BY DEFAULT! DEFAULT! DEFAULT! The sweetest word in the English language! Congratulations Burrito! Russia wins 2018! Please note - nowhere in the official bid thread did anyone disagree with this requirement - meaning those who openly defied the agreed bid set up have in fact now been disqualified. burrito
If there is to be revote, Russia will abstain. I agree n so much that Puppy and Fatixx have a point that some put much more effort than what was needed - as it seems threads were enough - thus i waste, as did Ryan and Mo - much time to make full package - and that was poor. But people here vote for friends and for no reasoning that has any to do with the bid and quality of the bid. Argentina, Turkey, Russia, Portugal, China - all had great bids with great bid guides - while the others had great bids but no so much work done to win. That is how it works and for 2022 I **** on a plate, take photo and call it Canada 2022! Maybe I win then!
thatsnotmypuppy
tnmp u really shudnt be talking about breaking the rules...considering ur reputation for breaking the rules... Examples? I 'explore' the 'boundaries' of the 'rules' - never do I break them. Everyting I do is within the rules - just maybe not as intended by the rules. I am extremely careful to never outright break the rules.

fatixxx
I have a question ? let's have a new thread with a poll in it. 'Are you happy with the results of the voting on WC 2018' ?? people, folx, friends please? Whe have the knowledge and the inconsiousness to do something for future games the avoid unhappyness for the next time. It can be very simple and refreshing. Think something and share it here with us. We can do it all together. Aaron made a first step and outlined the criteria for the contest. I suggest the following. Please let us think very very good before we want to participate, a correlation with the outlined criteria. For the sake and healthyness of... (fill it self in) I forgot one thing. Humankind needs for everthing criteria. As the first post for each voting began with those. And everybody followed it and no rules for the voting procedure were broken. So actually you have to see the point in it.
arwebb
I should also point out that I specifically raised the pdf issue after I took on responsibility for the England bid from Rob and was told it would not be a problem.

England is the winner without pdf, Russia is the winner wiht pdf... and someone voted at the last edge of the timing for England as he/she woke up from a wintersleep and wrote 7 messages in whole a year. we can go on and on. What are we going to do for the next up-coming competitions. btw: The voting was unfair (or as it seemed of all motives togheter on here). Russia is winner by hearts and England made winner by its queen. So the highest position has spoken. No one wants to answer on the question, but want to answer next to the question. .. We will move in silence to the next competition(s).
baron-pierreIV
I agree with Puppy and Burrito. England loses by default. What's the point of running a contest if u can wily-nily bend the rules? THat's not how it goes.

We will move in silence to the next competition(s). No I understood everything you were saying...there was no specification regarding .pdf's in this race, and when people asked (which they did) it was decided that either would be acceptable this time around, therefore whether you had a .pdf or not all the candidates were in here fairly, eligiable to be voted for, and the winner is the winner...and there is only one winner England.....I'm sorry, but it just wasn't specified and nothing can be done about it at this point, no rules were broken....as for how we vote in here with people voting for reasons "other than reading the bid books" well that is just how it is, and unfortunately (and I am not trying to sound rude) if you don't like/agree with that then you shouldn't submit a bid, because that is just how it is.... this race is over, Russia lost; England won in a fair vote, and it is over I agree with Puppy and Burrito. England loses by default. What's the point of running a contest if u can wily-nily bend the rules? THat's not how it goes. but see they asked and were told EITHER WAY was fine....if it wasn't they would never have been allowed on the ballot to begin with since they would have been classified as having an "incomplete bid"...should candidates have a pdf...yes I personally think they should...but in this race it was either, and the vote just happened to go in a non-.pdf bids direction
fatixxx
SOW, thanx for the explanation. I do understand everything too. I'm over my frustrations ok. But I don't want that we are going to fall in the same dissatisfaction when the SOG 2028 voting begins/ends. All I was saying in general, will there be guidelines for the SOG 2028 bidbooks like Aaron made for WC 2018? What are we going to do for this? How many pages etc.. like these questions I mean. What are the experiences in the previous SOG fantasy bidbook games . i want to begin for SOG 2028. I'm actually waiting for that

I'm actually waiting for that Yea those questions are usually all addressed at the beginning of each....for the SOG races in particlar in the past 2020 I really don't remember exactly how it went, but I know 2024 was very regulated by the GBOC...but the problem with that was it was TOO regulated, and the whole secret committee thing got a little out of hand, but I know we just had to make a mini-bid book, were shortlisted by vote, and then made a bid book, and another vote for that one and it went from August to December last year.... again someone will lay down the exact rules/format for 2028 (which, are we even doing right now anymore?) and that won't be me lol...so hopefully someone will get it started and be very clear without too controlling
arwebb
You've also got to ask yourself the question of whether people are actually discouraged from taking part in these things because of the perceived need to produce some shiny, all singing and all dancing book. If it isn't written into the rules, and as far as I'm aware it wasn't, what the hell does it matter?
