It was the newly developed Japanese color system by Toshiba. The color signal did not go out on the international feeds. Thanks for the clip, Fab. Oh, and notice the flag of Greece. Too bad, the commentary is in Greek. (Maybe Savas can give us an English translation??) Interesting but kinda drawn out. So what those priestesses did at the Sydney Closing is a condensed version of their doings in this series. This is the lighting for Beijing...so 24 March 2008. The ceremony was quite good considering is a not much known competition. Jacques Rogge was present on the event. Some sequences are AWESOME...like those birds and blossoms that float in the air. However, I have a question: What was the point of lighting a cauldron at the Panathinaiko stadium if the runner will just then depart for its relay to Moscow? Due to copyright restrictions, the clip isn't available in my country. Maybe you could open an account on another video platform like Metacafé and post the clips there? You, as the viewer, aren't given a clear, cogent feel of the flow of the numbers. All you see are Vanessa-Mae and all those writhing figures in the bkgd. Are they skates or dry-land dancers? Y r they hopping about? Really quite an amateurish take on this portion. I've seen the Josef Svoboda section; and it was much better than this. Thanks, joe, for posting it just the same.
