Howe's history is really interesting..

Andrew Howe Besozzi is a versatile athlete as he began competing in 100, 200 and 400 mt run, passing trough hurdel-race and to finally approach to the long jump..

some rumours say that during his training in America he met Carl Lewis who suggested him to specialize in long jump.

he's only 21, he has the time to do great things, his first goal is to surpass the italian record hold by Evangelisti

In TVE they've said he's part of a well-known Italian rock band that will release a new album next september...and that he has had some problems with the training because of his musical obligations, lol.

And CAROLINA KLÜFT made it again, gold medal for Sweden!

Silver and bronze for Spain in 10000m! We missed the gold, but it's a good achievement anyway!

Gold for Germany, Jan Fitschen

Silver for Spain, Chema Martínez

Bronze for Spain, Juan Carlos De la Ossa

The other Spanish, Ricardo Serrano, finished in 9th position.

This gold medal for Germany is a real sensation. But we have to wait for the doping-test.

You're sounding very confident :D

The Netherlands got it's first medal (silver in the heptathlon) today after disappointing performances by Smith (shotput, 4th) and Kiplagat (5th, 10000 meters) yesterday. I don't expect us to win a lot more.

It is a sensation indeed. But I don't like it when we raise doping suspicions now everytime an athlete achieves a surprising performance. Otherwise we won't enjoy sports ever again since especially those surprising performances are the "spice" of sports. Let's simply wait -- but until then we should be happy. Don't forget: "In dubio pro reo" -- that's the benefit of the doubt.

Additionally: Fitschen's performance wasn't that implausible. He was already World Student Games Champion at 10,000 m in 2003.

The favourite handles the pressure. She's been threatening to win a title for some time. Shame that Joice Maduaka finished in the worst position of all, fourth, but she seems to have improved beyond all recognition this year. Long may it continue.

Greece won 2 silver yesterday (although they deserved the gold!)

Fani Halkia, first olympic winner in Athens,, won the 2nd place at 400m H W.

Pigi Devetzi, second olympic winner in Athens, won the 2nd place at long jump W

Devetzi won silver in the triple jump. It was a fanatastic competition. The big pre-event favourite Lebedeva needed all her strenght, her willingness to win the gold medal with her last attempt.

Hallelujah! Medal number two for Great Britain from Rhys Williams in the 400 metres hurdles. Son of the Welsh rugby legend JJ, he's keeping the family's sporting tradition alive in style. Came from last to third in the last 100 metres.
