Bear Posted March 6 Author Report Posted March 6 Nice to see we have some athletes parading at least! Quote
yoshi Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 This is quick, but not as good as the Olympic one. Slava Ukraini Quote
JMarkSnow2012 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 If there are mics among the audience, they seem to be turned off at the moment Quote
Bear Posted March 6 Author Report Posted March 6 Just now, yoshi said: Going on the inserts, this should've been in Tesero Tesero I believe is between Milano and Cortina so it would have been ideal for sure Quote
yoshi Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Oh Milan does exist. Also lol at Channel 4 doing Channel 4 things - hopefully they don't clock off early & miss half the show again. Quote
JMarkSnow2012 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 UK Channel 4 showing a message to the GB flag-bearer from maybe-Prince Harry (I can't keep up with the ins & outs of that family) Quote
Olympian2004 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 The German commentator clearly is not a fan of the idea of having the athletes in the ceremony only through videos... And I have to agree. Would it really have killed the organisers to at have a parade of nations at least in Milan and Cortina this time as well? It must give the Paralympic athletes the feeling that they are not worth the same kind of financial or logistical investment as Olympic athletes. Quote
Cyriln Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Seeing most of the athletes only on video, it feels like there's a new global lockdown. 1 Quote
AmaniS Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Hi everyone Missed the beginning. Not sure of the dancers. Like the floor lights. Quote
yoshi Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 This is what I feared the Olympic parade would be like, but happily it wasn't. Feel sorry for the athletes, a quick appearance from a waiting room is no way to celebrate Quote

AmaniS Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Not how I feel about regular people as flag and country bearers. (Are they all people with disabilities?) And not models Quote
Cyriln Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 I remember, in the documentary series about the 2024 opening ceremony, a meeting between organizers and OBS: "you can do whatever you want but don't forget that the athletes are the stars, they all must have their moment". Now: "who needs athletes anyway lol" Quote
Ikarus360 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 The chat of the official Youtube channel filled with vatniks. 🙃 Quote
yoshi Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Yeah this should definitely have been at Tesero or Cortina, with a little parade at the other one/Milan like with the Olympics. This is really short changing the athletes who aren't in Verona, which understandably is the vast majority 1 Quote
Guilga Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Hey, let's make a parade of the athletes where the athletes are missing! Quote
Olympian2004 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 That must be the lamest assignment ever for those volunteers who have to dance during the parade of the few athletes... And by the way, I would love to see ceremonies again without the use of such "cheerleaders". If the athletes want to celebrate and dance, they will figure it out also without those people dancing around them. 1 Quote

sebastien1214 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 I admit, I can't be bothered to watch this ceremony. But enjoy the show to those who have faith. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Even without Russia/Belarus return this is just embarassing. Almost as bad as the 2018 CWG Closing. They should have held this in Milano or Cortina. But they insisted on this because muh roman arena. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Ukraine receiving the most cheers and rightfully so. 1 Quote
