Brekkie Boy Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 What happened to the ceremonies having to ve held in the host city? As stunning and historic as the Verona Arena is bringing a third city that has hosted nothing in to the mix is baffling. The cauldron situation is a bit of a farce really. Quote

Cool. Move all the ice events there then. Quote

The most brilliantly energetic anthem flattened twice. Funny, I hated Volare in the opening because it was such a slow, mournful version. But I didn’t mind the subdued anthem version. Oh well, different tastes. Quote
sebastien1214 Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 The British flag bearers' uniform: luckily, I haven't eaten yet! Quote

The IOC has totally overhauled the Olympic Charter to accommodate an "anything goes" hosting (& brand-naming) extravaganza. This has totally come about cause you know, beggars can't be choosers, in the end. 2 Quote
olympian Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 why are there chinese costumed performers on stage? Quote

This whole business of the Games being held in two regions is utter nonsense. But hey, that's politics... Quote
yoshi Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Yeah, if the election produces a pro Olympics government then surely it's an absolute no brainer. Lyon Olympique. It has a nice ring to it, like it's already somehow familiar... Quote

yoshi Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 It's probably not much of a surprise that there's not many athletes there, since said athletes were competing hundreds of miles away... Quote

sebastien1214 Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Why do they bring the athletes in after the flag bearers, and not at the same time?! First misstep of the ceremony for me. Quote

In general, Le Masne's entire work for 2024 will be very difficult to top. I can't recall a soundtrack for the ceremonies and the Olympics being as iconic as this one. Quote
