(I allow myself to make some really niche jokes) As I've said before, my Francais isn't great but is the small print there saying eat LESS than 5 fruits & vegetables per day?! Quote
Faster Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Made for television. Closing is a celebration of the athletes. Quote

yoshi Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Not sure most of the flagbearers want to be harassed by a court jester... Quote

Sir Rols Posted February 22 Author Report Posted February 22 And now we’re outside. Jeez, hard to think if a more stunning location 1 Quote

Bear Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 I take back my criticism of Verona's selection for the ceremonies - this has been a fantastic choice so far Quote
FYI Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 I feel like I'm at an opera instead of a ceremony at the Olympics. 1 Quote
Ikarus360 Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Loving it so far. Making the ceremony in such an historic venue like this really makes itself feek. The homage to Opera was stunning. You can tell this is a different team which did the opening. Also i praised Balich for avoiding led projections in the opening yet here we are 🤣 Quote

Not only is the Arena a fabulous and beautiful performance space, holding the ceremony in a place which wasn't being used for sports over the past fortnight has allowed much more ambitious preparation. Ikarus360 Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 The homage to the average citizens of the host cities/towns carrying the flag is nice and a contrast to the solemnity of the opening with the Armani models. Quote
yoshi Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 I mean it's still kinda bonkers to have a closing ceremony in a city with no other relation to its own games, but it is a beautiful location 1 Quote
Bear Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 The background music is beautiful, fitting for the city and arena Quote

Sir Rols Posted February 22 Author Report Posted February 22 Absolutely wonderful opening act. Just that part has already surpassed Paris’ entire closing ceremony (sorry Paris, I still suffer PTSD from that) Quote
