Infinite_Olympics
I'm looking forward to this. Already, ESPN2 is planning to air all of the USA games, and Fox College Sports Pacific is airing a couple of games too. The first USA exhibiton was fun to watch. Close at first, but then the good ol' USA pulled away in quite an exciting fashion. I look forward to the next exhibitions to air, against Korea and China, as well. DrunkWithBode
Team USA made its final cut, cutting defensive specialist Bruce Bowen. The 12-man roster will be: Carmelo Anthony Shane Battier Chris Bosh Elton Brand Kirk Hinrich Dwight Howard Lebron James Antawn Jamison Joe Johnson Brad Miller Chris Paul Dwyane Wade The lack of outside shooters could hurt us (as it did in the close win over Brazil), but I like this team A LOT better than the teams from Indianapolis in '02 or Athens in '04. There's a lot more diversity in talent; it seems like each of these guys brings a unique set of skills to the team.
Mikel
I think the best teams will be the USA and Spain. Spain has surprised me. We have beaten Serbia (World champion) and Argentina (Olympic champion) both twice!

simpeter
no, he's busy preparing the next NBA season By avoiding the World Championship? Ha, Ha, Ha..................................He won't risk injuring his little finger until he signs that $25 million contract, or risk his bargaining power by looking foolish against all the other competition. This tournament IS the best preparation possible, but the contract negotiations for a NBA 1st pick are big business and money comes first. In reality, he's going to be UNprepared for next season and have a very nasty welcome. Too bad, cuz I think Italy really needs him. Where's Galanda, anyway? Rei
Where's Galanda, anyway? the coach has prefered the young players to the old.. as you can see in the italian line-up the only 2 "old" players (who won the bronze in Stockolm2003 and the silver in Athens2004) are Gianluca Basile and Denis Marconato.. nykfan845
Ugh, the FIBA site is down for me. Puerto Rico is one of those pesky teams. What they lack in paint presence they make up with guard play. Larry Ayuso and Carlos Arroyo really made it difficult for Team USA all night. But our offense saved us this time. I expect less problems against China however.
