BigVic Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 Who do you think will light the two Olympic Cauldrons in Milano and Cortina on Friday during the Opening Ceremonies? In Turin it was Stefania Belmondo who had the honor Quote

baron-pierreIV Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 (edited) Well, if one is to go by who the initial Torch relay bearers @ Olympia were, the first Italian was Stefania Belmondo, But she already did the honors in 2006. She passed the flame next to Armin Zoeggler (Italian luger or bobsledder), so Zoeggler might be one of the two or several final lighters. I am guessing there will be 3 in Milano (one will probably be an artist; an athlete (figure skater Carolina Kostner?) and a humanitarian). And then probably two in Cortina. Zoeggler could be one of the two final lighters in Cortina and a Paralympian already. Or maybe a descendant of Eugenio Monti?? Edited February 6 by baron-pierreIV Quote

They want young, fresh blood (or at least photogenic) for the Lightings. That doddering Muhammed Ali was the last one of the sick oldies, thank God!! Quote
