2031 FIBA Basketball World Cup

We don't know where will the 2031 FIBA Basketball World Cup will take place. But several nations are interested. I would love to see France, Germany and Italy host together and would be the second time in multiple countries after the 2023 edition in Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. If France, Germany and Italy is awarded, it would be the first time these three countries would host it, it would be also the first in Europe since 2014 in Spain.

 

My host city prediction:

France:

Paris - Accor Arena (Bercy Arena) [Capacity: 15,500] {Would host several Group Phase matches and the Final Phase}

Montpellier - Sud de France Arena (Capacity: 10,000)

Lyon - LDLC Arena (16,000)

Strasbourg - Zénith de Strasbourg (Capacity: 12,079)

Germany:

Berlin - Uber Arena (Capacity: 14,500)

Hamburg -  Barclays Arena (Capacity: 13,000) 

Italy:

Rome/Roma - PalaLottomatica (Palazzo dello Sport) [Capacity: 11,200]

Milan/Milano - Unipol Forum (Forum di Milano) [Capacity: 15,800]

They would be fantastic hosts for 2031.

It's a shame that none of the nations above ever hosted a FIBA WC! 😑

As for Italy, you can add Torino's Inalpi Arena (Olimpico) to the list. And you can also add Bologna, new temporary venues Milan gained for the Olympics and make it a solo bid?

I came up with a venue prediction months ago, and I had the inspired idea, with the venues I selected, to have the venue map form a circle!

Germany:

Lanxess Arena, Cologne [19,500] (1 first round group, 1 second round group, final round)

Italy:

Inalpi Arena, Turin [16,600] (1 first round group, 2 second round groups)

PalaItalia, Milan [16,000] (2 first round groups, 1 second round group)
