Olympic Village

The Paris 2024 Olympic Village has had mixed reviews but it appears to have all that is required judging from various social media posts made from within it.

Some of the issues raised, rightly or wrongly, is that there is allegedly not enough protein in meals available and too much of a focus on plant based dining causing some to bring their own meals into the OV.

Also some USA athletes have complained there’s not enough bathrooms  with some moving into hotels.

The dating/hookup app Grindr is also blocked in the Olympic Village but I cant see this being too  much of a problem with lots of socialising spaces available for those wanting to meet up.  I’m not sure if Tinder is also blocked?

Re Grindr being blocked in the OV, according to Uniladtech.com this is the reason:

“A 2016 incident in Rio saw a Daily Beast reporter expose several athletes using Grindr, causing major backlash. The article was consequently retracted and called for demands for privacy for the participants.”

this norwegian swimmer, Henrik Christiansen, keeps appearing on my tiktok feed and he's like obsessed with the chocolate muffins from the olympic village... every video he's uploaded since the opening ceremony has been dedicated to these chocolate muffins. so there's at least one positive thing coming from the village 🙂

Yes absolutely.  Chocolate 🍫 in anything would really press my buttons and glad Henrick has found his nirvana in the Village.

He looks a young 27 year old and would burn the muffins off in his training sessions.

Figures. Leave it to the press to make life more difficult for closeted gay athletes. 

I think the western press often forgets just how homophobic a lot of the world still is. Being gay can be a real danger to some athletes.
