None of you noted…

Hah, that's a nice fact, and you've just led me down a Wikipedia rabbit hole.

I just looked up the 1896 medal table, and the countries' records since, and it looks like from 1920 onwards it was only Britain and USA who could say that. 1980 obviously killed the US' claim.

Thank God for Sirs Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent.

Another interesting trivia fact. Yesterday was the first time God Save the King had been played at an Olympics medal ceremony since 1948.

Nice job on the relay!

Knowing that the original anthem was a song about Louis XIV's anal fistula, I would find it hilarious if the British anthem were to be played at Versailles if the British won one of the equestrian events.

I didn’t know that. Any sources? Wikipedia doesn’t mention that.

My Mum always used to point out it also used to be the same tune for he German anthem till 1918. And Wiki says it was also the same for Czarist Russia.

We're gonna be hearing God Save Charlie's Fistula at least twice this morning :P

Went out for 10 mins after the triathlon coverage and missed the rowing gold. Hard to keep up sometimes.

BMX silver just now....

Meant to post earlier that I don't quite know how Reilly in the BMX didn't win. I don't pretend to know much about BMX judging criteria but I thought both Reilly and the French rider were better than the winner. What a great event to watch though.

LOL, I'm pretty sure Bryony Page just sang "Queen", laughed at herself and got it right for the rest of the national anthem.

That was a lovely moment for Bryony ^_^ @sebastien1214 we're level on golds now, until Leon the dolphin turns up again lol

We will of course wait for the dolphin this evening, but the real star of the day today at home: the greatest of judokas, Teddy Riner who can go and get gold at home this afternoon
