The song from the mechanical horse segment really sounds like something you would hear from a Rocky movie in the 80s..

Not that i'm complaining!

It would be hilarious to have lots of falls at the Stade de France and no boat falls during the opening ceremony when we would have expected the opposite.

So cocky when you nearly drowned Serena

The sparkles on the stage look like falling rain. A reference to the opening ceremony or a mere coincidence?

It's probably to represent the stars in the sky. Since the plot of the artistic segment is people from space who stumble upon the ruins of the Olympics (something like that)

No fireworks so far.

If any, I expect fireworks only at the end of the ceremony, as it is traditional for closing ceremonies. Or Paris really stages the first fireworks-free ceremonies. The opening ceremony might have been a blueprint for that.

Well, that's protocol. It's always very... boring.

You need to watch the start of previous closings lol try Sydney 2000 for a start, then you will see how a closing should be done

Thank you dear Scotsman but I think this is not the first Olympic ceremony I have watched. I am simply saying that the protocol parts are always boring; at least that is my opinion, I have never been very excited by the athletes' parades. No need to be as condescending as a French person can be.

Don't expect to see them because of all the ecological yadda yadda (yet they had a massive fireworks display for Bastille day, pointing their hypocrisy). Seems even fireworks are forbidden for these nutjobs.
