Why they decided to not perform on Paris and i'm seeing a prerecorded video? Is the Venice Beach performance prerecorded? It's genuinely the middle of daytime there. Quote

baron-pierreIV Posted August 11 Author Report Posted August 11 Yeay! BILLIE EILISH -- the new GLORIA ESTEFAN!! Can only sing half an octave!! Quote
Ikarus360 Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 The pink and pastel blue hues look very nice and retro-ish. I wonder if they will go for that look in 2028 Quote

MisterSG1 Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Los Angeles was a great city in 1984 which saved the Olympics, now it’s a craphole which can’t host an Olympics. Quote

sebastien1214 Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 I rather liked the first part of the handover; even if I can't stand Tom Cruise. But now, for a few minutes, it gives me the impression of yet another SuperBowl concert. I like it less. Quote
olimpicgamer Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Americana are entertainment kings. Let's see if they will pull it off in 2028. The thing is, France can also put together incredibly beautiful events, like the fireworks for Bastille Day. That's all they needed to do this time. Quote

Michelle Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Hard to believe the last Summer Games in the states was Atlanta. Feels like a lifetime ago. Quote
StefanMUC Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Poor Laura Lindemann. Our flag bearer explicitly was looking forward to see Billie E perform, and all she got is seeing her on screen. Quote

FYI Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 So what did Tom cruise do anyway? All I remember is him being on top of the Stade de France, acting all attention whore like, & then automatically being on the stadium floor. Did he really "zip-line" down the stadium? But anyway, so far not impressed with the L.A. 2028 handover. It's really blah. The Paris handover was WAY better. Quote

Olympian2004 Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Oh wow, Snoop Dogg was so omnipresent in Paris during the past two weeks that I expected him to perform in Stade de France. Either he has a body double or he flew home early. Quote
Sir Rols Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 (edited) 6 minutes ago, FYI said: What I'm getting at, though, is how can we comment & *subjectively* compare it from past Ceremonies with what we're seeing right now, especially from ceremonies from *many* years ago (if not decades ago) if one has watched many of those ceremonies only once to fairly determine a 'favorite' or 'worst ever'. Many people can't even remember last week, let alone two decades ago. I just find that strange reasoning. How could one NOT have a subjective favourite? The one that touched them most positively at the time. If you are going to try to rate “best” (even though that’s still subjective) maybe you want to watch them over a bit. But favourite? That’s absolutely legitimate no matter how many times or when you saw them. Edited August 11 by Sir Rols Quote
Scotguy II Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Sorry but yes it brightened up a bland show but the LA28 handover is utter mince. Its like ive gone to Cancun and the 18-30 club is putting on its all inclusive afternoon american music show Quote
StefanMUC Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Fun fact: in a weird holiday planning twist, after my recent stay in Paris, I will go to LA in 12 days 1 Quote
