Scandal!!!! They just announced Thomas Bach as "president of the International Olympic Committee", without mentioning his fencing gold medal in 1976! I guess those two announcers won't ever find employment again.

One of the two announcers is a very well-known TV host in France, the presenter of the French version of Survivor. Don't worry about him.

The BBC One programme of the ceremony was supposed to end at 10:30, presumably including rounding up. I assume the ceremony was supposed to end at 10. 34 minutes ago

They should remove speeches and the Olympic anthem from future ceremonies. Unnecessary and boring. Nobody cares.
