I still can't. Maybe you can upload the image somewhere and provide a download link, @Sir Rols? But seeing that I have no edit function for my posts, while some others seem to have it, I ask myself whether my account is restricted in some way or at least my internet connection has come pecularities. ;)

It’s taking a while for me to upload pages tonight as well, so maybe it’s the internet (it’s peak time in Oz,) or the GBids server. I’ll give it a rest for a while and try later

Thanks, Roland! By the way, regarding the server: Last night, I had trouble accessing the forum and the website, it seemed to be down for maybe 15 minutes or so (at least for me). But probably you and Rob already know about that?

Last night Central European Time, I should say, probably around 10 pm. Which leads me again to my question whether it is possible to get an edit function here. ;)

I asked my contact at LA84 Foundation if she knew of any "Official" viewing parties for the Handover (since I have friends from NYC visiting LA at the moment).  She said she wasn't aware of anything organized (by LA28).  The production company behind the Handover moment is showing its limitations as a TV-packager.

there's been some viewing parties organized by LA Parks, but I was surprised that they didn't have any scheduled for the closing ceremony

Our Paris Closing Ceremony viewing party tonight has grown to 4 with two ex-pat Greek Aussie joining us with folding chairs on the big green lawn and some ice cold bevvies and a few hundred Athenians at the Live Site.

The Paris Ceremony weather looks stunning, warm, clear skies for the big show 🎶 ☀️

Confirming no sight of a cauldron within the stadium.

I would be truly surprised if they hadn't a smaller version of the cauldron floating into the stadium, at least for the extinguishing of the flame. The extinguishing of the flame has always been part of a closing ceremony, and it would be quite anti-climatic if the audience in the stadium could only see it on screens in a transmission from the Jardin des Tuileries. But then again, the spectators of the opening ceremony could only see a lot of the action on the screens...

Could be a person lights the torch from the cauldron, then flies in on a balloon with the torch (Manchester 2002) and then it gets blown out (Athens 2004)

There's still the flame lantern that was together with the electric balloon calduron to put out as well. Wonder if they do something with that.

Looks like according to reports that the Eiffel Tower will not feature in the ceremony so we won't see a grand fireworks ending from the tower similar to Sydney 2000 bridge spectacular
