sebastien1214 Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 This karaoke where no one sings in the audience reminds me of the darkest hours of corporate team-buildings where the CEO tries as best he can to make his underpaid employees smile. Quote

Who is the sound engineer? Beethoven? Beethoven would have done it better (with his ear trumpet) Quote

Scotguy II Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 Will they alternate each olympics between men and women marathons victory ceremonies or will it be the women permanently? Quote
Bear Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 im pretty sure the audience and athletes were singing, its just that the audio quality is so very not good 😔 Quote

olimpicgamer Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 I'm sure the athletes are enjoying the party. But for tv audiences, not interesting so far. Let's see what comes next. Quote

I guess it's only because the women's marathon took place today instead of the men's marathon (as was customary during Olympic Games until now). We will see when Los Angeles will stage the marathon races and which sex they will let start. Quote

Olympian2004 Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 And appropriately, we will now hear the Dutch anthem at this closing ceremony. I mean, the Netherlands really pulled all punches at these Games in terms of their medal tally. They must have one of the best medal-per-citizen ratios at these Games. Quote
rio2016man Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 Sifan Hassan getting her marathon gold medal in a packed Stade de France is just iconic Quote

kevzz Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 Queen’s We Are The Champion is always such a crowd pleaser. Those few close-up shots of athletes belting the chorus are so moving and personify everything they have fought for, esp. those who won a gold medal. I hope they play this in LA closing ceremony and set up the cameras properly to only show close-ups of different athletes singing to this song. Quote
