If there was anyone I would have wanted to play moi in films, it would've been Alain.  ;)  (BTW, doesn't he remind you of a young Louis Jourdan?)  He also played the first Mr. Ripley in the first film version of THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY in the French film, "Purple Noon" (1961).  
I wonder if that AWFUL Olympic Closing killed him??
